"Vinnie" cannot land a hit, and even if he could it wouldn't matter,
watch the scene, Lugia's hit by all three birds, and gets back at 'er.

You would be right if that actually happened. In the scene they were not touching each other but still moving at the same speed. Therefore no facts have been ignored ^^
The speed he showed was faster then anything the pokes could do or hit. Whats to stop Seph from teleporting and killing either?
