Boba Fett Easter Egg Found on Star Wars Blu-ray

Before the set came out on Blu-ray last Friday, rumors of Easter eggs were already circulating. We even got a confirmation of sorts from Kayleen Walters, senior director of marketing at Lucasfilm at a press event in August. When a journalist asked her if the Star Wars Holiday Special would be included on the Blu-ray set, she laughed and said, "You'll have to wait and see. The Holiday Special is a challenge. But look for some Easter eggs, is all I'll say. What's a Star Wars release without a couple Easter eggs?"And sure enough, sooner than you could say "Boba Fett? Where?" reports emerged to confirm the rumors. We checked ourselves and yes, it's true, the animated short originally aired as part of the infamously ridiculous Star Wars Holiday Special in 1978 is nestled in a little corner of one of the bonus discs. Despite a peculiar, rough animation style and some lackluster voice acting from the original cast, this cartoon is notable because it represents the screen debut of Boba Fett. You can see him riding a big dinosaur-like thing, calling people "friend" and flying off with the help of his infamous backpack with jets. And there's a whole lot more to discover.
The segment is located on the second bonus disc, containing the archives for Episodes IV through VI. To find it from the main menu, click on Episode V, then go to the "Pursued by the Imperial Fleet" section. From there, go into "The Collection" and select the "Boba Fett Prototype Costume." You'll see a menu on the right side of the screen with the option "First Look." When you choose that option, you'll get a brief introduction and background on the special before it starts playing. Then just sit back and enjoy the weirdness.
And no, we didn't miss the fact that Walters referred to "Easter eggs" in the plural, so we're on the hunt for more. Let us know if you hear of any!

That is just a piece of art that has been out for years. And both bens and r2 and 3po And boba and Chewie are on the front row. I would be more impressed if ALL the issues were fixed, before the release. But I can live with this. I just think it is funny that Lucas is doing the 3d over 6 frigin years, who knows if 3d will still be popular or even going in 2 to 6 years time. That will be one set I will never buy is the 3d one unless it is drastically improved both the movie and 3d presentation. Lucas should do try and do the releases 2 months apart.

3D is already going out of style. Lucas is too late to the party. The fans will still go because it's Star Wars, but be prepared to hear about people complaining about it.

So what's going to happen in 3 years If 3d is gone then?
Im already prepaired for people complaining about it. But even if he were to release them in 2d I would still go. It's all about the experince of seeing it on the big screen and for some seeing them for the first time on the big screen. But he should just shoot for a 2013 release of all 6 films starting in January finish in may for the 30th anniversary of ROTJ

LF should do that, but we don't know how long it'll take them to finish the conversion process
Though all 3D post-converted movies I've seen sucked (the conversion, not necessarily the movies themselves) they could still do a half decent job at them, but how long does that take?
One movie per year is too long though... even more so now that 3D is fading away 😬

episode 1 (at the pod race c3po is carring the flag but in the sky shot he and the flag is not there, obiwans jedi braid switches sides when quigon comes back on tatooine.)
episode 3 during the mustafar fight (in once scene anakin and obiwans light sabers switch back and forth)
episode 4 (the grab the red r2 unit it's motivator goes and they show a shot of R2d2 and the red r2 is still there)
episode 5 (the wampas face has not horns when it attacks luke but in the cave it does have horns)
I would get this one just incase GL decides to change or add more stuff that we may not like.

The 3D releases should get their share of tinkering, and those are bound to come to BR as well

Thats not like that on the UK version.
They are behind Qui Gonn. Next to Yoda.
Our version has it only on One half of that. In the opneing left hand "Page." Its a smaller, (Not in scale though) recomposed design.
