USH'S GAME EPISODE IV- 'CHASE'- LIGHT SIDE AREA

"I guess I COULD let you see..." says the man. He is not strong willed.

You can trace Ascar's ship- it is easy. One recent arrival from Malastare. But it did not arrive on the public docking platforms. It landed somewhere rather exclusive, up top.

Ascar must have been meeting someone with money to arrange that.

"Hmm, somewhere up top, eh?" Xeth says to Gundy. "Maybe the computer can tell us where..."

Very easy- the ship is still docked. Where Ascar went next is more of a puzzle.

"Well, maybe we should pay the ship a visit, shall we? Maybe from there we can pick up his trail."

That is easily done.

It is a luxury 'yacht', done in the same chrome finish as Amidala's ship in TPM.

However, a Rodian docking official blocks your way.

"Sorry," he says. "Can't let you go any further; it's not your ship!"

Meanwhile, Mah and Marcus, after a long delay whilst you listen to T'lo Nebb talking to you animatedly despite you not being able to understand a damn word, a new ship arrives with the protocol unit on-board, a standard humanoid unit in silver.

"Hello," it says, in a smooth voice, "I am C8-T8, human-cyborg relations. How my I be of assistance, Master Jedi?"

-

Lance and Sieri- with a flash, something at least four times as high as a man, consiting of orange reptillian scales and a lot of spikes and teeth shoots out the trees towards Lance's throat, intending to tear it out.

"We'd like you to translate the words of this lamellan here"

"Of course. I am fluent in over five million forms of communication and Lamellan is..."

And you guys kind of tune out, there. Before long, you are in the meeting lobby of the military area, with T'Lo Nebb.

"Master Jedi, I must say what a pleasure it is to meet you. I greet you on behalf of the Lamellan Senatorial delegation and assure you that I will do everything in my power to help extricate you from this unfortunate situation. I look forward to working with you very much..."

"Could you translate this back into lamellan C8?"
"Thank you, we are looking forward to working on this situation with the lamellan senatorial delegation aswell. However it must be very clear that you understand we must be allowed to enter the city, we know the standard threaty does not allow this. Tho these are special circumstances, which call for special measures. so if you please."

"Of course, Master Jedi, and I am only too glad to be of service, but you recognise, of course, that the primary concern here is to ensure that the integrity of the investigation into the Tartaran sector is not in any way disrupted or endangered."

"Ofcourse I understand mister...., I believe I haven't catched your name, but you must also recognise that it is for the safety of the Tartaran people and the investigation that we have to go in."

"I am T'lo Nebb, assistant to the Lamellan Senator. And you must understand, Master Jedi, that no single man poses more of a threat to the security of the Tartartan sector, or those around it, or even the whole Republic, than these insidious Tartaran smugglers. That invietigation takes precedence over yours."

"Then can't you just allow me and my fellow jedi to go and find the person we need to find, it will make both our jobs a lot easier and safer"

"Sadly not. Much as I would love to allow you to do your jobs, simply allowing you in there would violate the terms of the Republican investigation and so terminate it."

"You WILL let us past," Xeth says. So far, the people of Nar Shadda seem to be weak-minded, and decides to use the ability to boggle their minds as an advantage over those who impose. "And you WILL tell us where the owner of this ship went after he left you."

"I WILL let you see the ship..." says the man.

"...ONCE you pay the appropriate administration costs, of course!" he says, with a big smile.

Damn. Xeth, you don't want to even THINK about how much ASCAR could have bribed this guy.

"It's in the interest of the entire galaxy that we get this criminal. It's of the utter-most importance, you must allow us to do our job."

'Master Jedi, I have every intention of letting you do your job, but you must understand that it has to be WITHIN the remit of the Senatorial Investigation whose rules do, of course, have primacy here. Even if I were to agree with all you say, I do not have the authority to change those rules.'

"Forget it, Xeth," Kellan said in a low voice. "We'd be better off saving the credits we have left for something more important." She stared off into the distance for a moment. "Ascar is surely hiding himself with the wealth of society. We're going to have to infiltrate that area in order to find him." She looked down at her clothing. "And we're not going to accomplish that dressed like this."

High society is a good idea, even though it is a relative term only on Nar Shadda.

There is ONE thing you can rule out, though, Xeth. If Ascar had been cutting a deal with the Hutts, he would have landed at one of their palaces, not in a docking bay, regardless of how exclusive that bay is.
