Yeah, yerss, there are a small hunch of men dressed like that guy in one corner of the bar.
-
"Oi!" says one of the security people, lazily, as you rifle through his things, Mah.
His name is Breva, he's registered as a Tartaran citrizen, meaning he has a tone of id cards in order to satisfy the customs authorities that it is legal for him to be here.He has no work permit, or anyhting like that, which is odd as his clothes are expensive.
That being the case, Mah, you are certain this man is a criminal and from what you hear about this place, he must have been a smuggler. Well, that's what the Republican Investigation is all about, anyway. You'd hate to think all this claptrap you have been through since you were here was about nothing.
Normally the only way to know if the Mind Trick will work on someone is to try it.
All three Jedi in the Tartaran Civilian Sector are now receiving on their comms unit the following message from Captain Pheron.
"Are you people INSANE? Nebb just contacted me. Don't you realise what you have DONE? You have ruined the entire investigation! The Tartaran lawyers will have the case shut down for this! That's billions of credits of taxpayer's money wasted and ALL the criminals go free!
"In the name of SANITY sort that mess out! If you release Nebb now and sort out things fast enough we might JUST be able to keep the investigation going..."
(I assume I can respond to Persis)
"Calm down, what happened was an accident to start with, second of all, we have bigger problems right now, we found a corps probably a smugler but he was killed by a SABRE, now you can understand that is must be looked into ASAP"
*heads over to the back door of the bar, one hand on the sabre, keeping all sense on alert and opening the door*
Marcus, I feel that as a Master you will appreciate what Pheron is saying. Not only are your current actions wrecking ANY hope of justice for people in the Lamellan Sector (and those Smugglers kill more people each day than Persis has killed ever), they will also most likely get you suspended from your jobs and likely facing criminal charges.
Nebb may be a pain but he is an official envoy from a Republican Senator, who represent the people you serve. And what he says in this particular case has legal authority.
And even if Jedi WERE the types to directly lock up a Republican envoy and try and pretend it didn't happen- which they should not really be- there are many witnesses, let alone the word of Nebb himself.
I just thought you guys should be aware of the disaster that could result from all this. Nebb cannot be dismissed so easily without serious consequences, else things would be far too easy. You ARE now making progress, which is good, but if you let this run on you might lose the lot- the Council may even order you out of there.
"I'm sorry," says the Smuggler. "Everything is so busy, you know? Anyway, yeah, Breva's dead, but it doesn't matter because it only means he doesn't get his share. Like we told the grunts, it was that girl who probably killed him."
Nothing out here, Marcus. Whatever happened is long over and the person responsible moved on.
-
I am sorry, BB, but you know how busy Gundy can be. Really, I can move things on for you based on getting Androni to pay for his own aid if you want.
Yerss, the men describe a girl who looks remarkably like Faith out of Buffy the Vampire Slayer.
"Came in with that loudmouthed guy," they add. "Got friendly with Breva and went out back with him, and that was that!"
(I assume you re-activated the droid, Marcus, else Nebb would not understand!)
"Well, this is all OUTRAGEOUS!" says Nebb. he is about to say more but he sees yerssot talking to the men and runs over. "Please, gentlemen, no need to be alarmed at these routine questions. Now, if you can remind me what is being said?"
"Our friend here is just asking about poor dead Breva," says one. Nebb nods.
