i was trying to figure out how speed would factor in, in this scenario. i mean warp 9 is simply warping space around them in order to move from point A to point B by simply letting the universe move around them and then they simply enter back into normal space as they reach their destination. the question really is how much momentum or inertia would the ship or asteroid have when they enter back to normal space. it could be nothing more then a small forward momentum to thousands of miles an hour.
I'm using actual speed in this thread. Warp 9 would be applied to real space...and the speed prior to impact is just over 1 trillion miles per hour.
