Greece on the path to chaos

instead of rioting the greeks should do what black people did in the 50s and sit around in the streets and in peoples door steps until they get what they want.

This is true, Black-people now get welfare checks for decades and decades; most of the (99.9%) are healthy and fit for work.

Meaningless! The fact is people don´t like getting their money cut especially if they are having problems getting by anyway.

Ive been to Greece often and when they had the Drachma everything was mega cheap, so the locals could afford to live, but since the Euro came into it all prices have rocketed (like in most EU countries). For example in Greece 1 liter of Super will cost over 1,60 € twice as much as it did last year, in other countries its around the 1,40€ mark as a comparison and 70% of that is tax.

Nice sig by the way.

Thanks.

Well if Greek people hate being on the Euro and the rest of Europe hates Greece being on it, the solution is clear (though not easy).

No one like getting their money cut. Ever. You want to balance your budget? You cut spending and increase revenue.

Greece clearly mismandaged their pension plans and other financial aspects. The cuts have to come. They are necessary. The rest of Europe is not going to pay for Greece to get double the pensions they do and Greece obviously cannot be solvent with the current system.

99.9%? Try 145%.

Honestly, people being able to stop working at the age of 53 can't be great for the economy either...

Its been done before the revolution of the proletariate thing you so proudly talk about and has failed horribly every time. What is scary is the fact that you still believe in it.

The only reason such things have failed was due to intervention by capitalist imperial powers.

But if the people can unite as they are in Greece, they can overthrow said regime and create a new free world!

Why would I be joking?

It's rather obvious. The Bolshevik revolution failed because of stress made from outside countries like Britain, France, and the United States. They pressured Russia and had military threats from all angles of the country.

And when Lenin died, they shifted into a militaristic nation because of these threats.

This is frightening. You are completely and utterly ignorant and have absolutely no idea what you are talking about.

What about the Provisional Government? What about the Petrograd Soviets? What about the Mensheviks? The Bolsheviks were never the majority; they were a collection of ruthless thugs that essentially brutally forced their way into power. Lenin was a ruthless prick. The Cheka wasn't founded by Stalin, Stalin just continued Lenin's policies on a larger scale.

Re: Greece on the path to chaos

Ever since it began, I always suspected that the EU would be short-lived. That something will make it fail, and maybe this is the first domino. Those countries just don't have the cohesion or us-mentality that the American states do.

Besides, I've always thought "drachma" sounded cooler than "Euro".

Re: Re: Greece on the path to chaos

Probably a bit early to call it a failure. Greece is one country out of how many that transferred over to it?
