Who can survive being in the core of the sun

Personally, I find "the core of the sun" to be another jobber zone, like a black hole. It's as if there's nothing left in the natural environment able to pose a threat to these guys, no dangerous situation unless there's an uberbaddie involved.
👆

The writers never think of what surviving inside the sun or in a Black Hole actually implies, and mostly do these sort of stuff soley for the 'look how powerful my characters is!1' factor.

When rookie Green Lanterns' auto-shields have shown themselves as capable of withstanding Blackholes, and Terrax is destroying planets, I'd think they'd get a clue that this cosmic showings shouldn't really be taken that seriously anymore, and the debates should rather be focused on actual combat performances. I guess I was wrong, since we're still at the primitive "But he liek punches planets apart and tanks supernovas" manner of discussing confrontations.

That's rather sad.

As for this thread, Superman has casually survived the core of the sun even before Jeph Loeb started his run (and the subsequent rise in power).

100% agree w this post

my sentiments exactly

surviving in an actual sun would mean someone could take nuclear bombs to the face like a tickle

yet it means very little in comics because stupid writers have no concept of what it actually means to survive in the sun

I hate how characters who in one issue can barely destroy a one block radius can in the next issue destroy a planet and then all the fanboys scream "oohh, planet buster" etc

Meh. That's just as bad, if not worse. Apologists will grasp any proof to support their position.

well, actually an energy being like stardust could make sense to survive in a star

thats different...his durability is magic based

I honestly think the Surfer probably could, hell, all of Galactus heralds should since they are made from the energy of Galactus but the people on this list, NOPE (except Sentry).

I have reasons for each and every last one of the people on this list why they shouldnt be able to survive in the core of the sun.

How can you Regenerate from Ions?.. 🙄
Meh.. I wasn't givving a "what should logically happen" scenario, more like "how it'd go in comix" scenario. And in comics Logan would die, his adamantium skeleton would eventually leave the core, float in space for a few hundred years, land on some populated planet and regenerate there. Then Logan would get up and head to the nearest bar.

How?..even after the star has died, the solid Core would still exist and the gravitational pull will never let the skeleton leave... 😕

Let's say he drank a beer before the sun trip. There'd be some spit in the beer mug. He'd regenerate from that.

🙂

You all know it to be true.

Spiderman > Wolverine.

Fact.

HOW it leaves it is not the point, the point is - in comics as soon as it does it'll regenerate.😛

I don't understand what you are implying here. He is a fictional character, he can do whatever the writers say he can do. Are you saying that him surviving in the sun is not consistent with his character and feat history, because that would make more sense. However it is consistent with the character and the characters abilities as shown throughout the years.

Kind of different; Sentry was trying to kill himself and since he does have control of his physical form, I am pretty sure that was why he was desintegrating like he was.

that's actually exactly my point...

you see if he wants to he could hold himself together. it's not like an automatic thing......

so i said yes he could as long as he could hold himself together.
