You thought wrong. What we learned from Revan in-game was based on second-hand accounts, which is hardly sufficient to flesh out a character.
By this kind of logic, no historical figure born outside of the era of motion picture should be someone we can assume has a defined and even likable personality.
I mean everyone from Padme to the Rotunda janitor was under the impression Palpatine was a kind old man with the Republic's best interests at heart and Mace Windu was resolute in his opinion that Dooku was above murder.
How is this example similar?
Second hand accounts of a controversial, legendary figure are hardly beacons of accuracy, Janus. Aren't you a history major or something?
I am.
It stands to reason that if you have multitudes of personal friends, foes, and teachers commenting on a person, and their own dialogue and works (which is demonstrated both in KotOR word choice, the novel Revan upcoming, and PoD briefly), and tons of near-force-fed evidence from the game itself, you can come to a conclusion about a character of extreme importance to the era.
This is if anything more solid than any historical representation of say, Caesar or Lincoln or King Arthur.
And yet it is still entirely rational to idolize any of the above based on what limited information we have. What you're basically arguing is that a person must be truly and intimately known in order to be judged as "awesome". I can't stress how ridiculous that is here.

What logic are you referring to? Certainly not mine, I hope, since that doesn't fall in line with what I was arguing at all. I never asserted that Revan doesn't have any sort of personality, I asserted that none of us knows exactly what kind of personality it is.

That the popular opinion of a political or martial figure could, in fact, be dead wrong?
I am.

It stands to reason that Revan, an enigmatic and mysterious figure by all accounts, is a man who is, like Palpatine or Dooku, able to put up fronts. That he was a genius is not in dispute nor is his charisma. But those are among the very few concrete things that can be definitely said about him; we have no idea the extent of his sense of humor, altruism, selfishness, convictions, weaknesses, vices, virtues, and all of the telltale traits that humanize or dehumanize a character, endearing them to us, making them memorable. I would argue that an insight into these things is appropriate and ultimately necessary to like a character or not, rather than be merely intrigued by him.

YouTube videoHoly shit that looks awesome... I might just have to play as an Agent first.
I was always going to play Agent. Now I will do so with soiled undergarments.
It's more to do with the setting and it being made by the mastermind behind The Longest Journey series actually.
Out of all three The Dragon are actually easily my least favorite faction (The Illuminati totally being the first one I'll play as).
I wouldn't be too surprised if it's the kind of thing Dr McBeefington would end up liking actually, going by his preferences (Deus Ex and Assassin's Creed).

Because all the damn spoilers were already posted a couple posted back if you've bothered to look...
And nothing's happened because nothing interested happened. The class storyline isn't an exciting story as you'd think.
