Is anyone interested in Star Wars the Old Republic?

Hell no. The queue's are insane.

Christ, I've downloaded another GB at 700 kbs after the almost 30 GB I did yesterday, and then it installs at like 1 % per thirty seconds.

I've found that if you wait until after midnight downloading gets much faster.

Yea, it's pandemonium from what I hear. It looks like bioware was totally unprepared for this.

Yeah, the population on the lowest server is over 300. It's taken me the better part of the hour to get around number 100 in line.

I think all MMO's are buggy as hell. It just comes with being so big.

From what I hear, this game isn't even close to being ready for release and is more buggy than any other mmo before it.

Holy hell, that giant Rakata is pretty much the equivalent of an Abeloth Force God. Talks about how he's trying to create galaxies. His artifact creates zombies and he calls current technology primitive.

Anyways, I was serious. This game is addictive. I love it. Only complaint is that one quest (Allegiance) was broken.

The "EU Jedi are too powerful" for a reason. Not because it doesn't make sense in canon (which it doesn't) but because it makes for a very boring story. RotS and The Clone Wars are great examples--lots of explosions and lasers and powers and this, but very much lacking in character development, story, immersion, and likeability. No substance, no... soul, you could say. And I attribute that primarily to the obsession with providing special effects above all else. And the best way to do that in Star Wars is to over-hype the Force.

And no, it's not a case of nostalgia (I didn't get in to any of this until Ep. III came out). It's a case of cinematic and storytelling quality, and the EU these days is drawing a pretty big deficit.

Which one? I'd heard the Knight storyline was subpar.

Im playing a consular now at level 9 and tython sucked. Yea we have holocrons from the jedi of the force wars but this is nowhere as interesting as korriban or dromund kaas. Now I'm on coruscant.
