Might sound egotistical, but anyone who has been following football for longer than June 11th knows that a Dutch World Cup victory is long overdo.Might be true, but again, anyone who has been following football for longer than June 11th knows that the Dutch are usually ''fair players''. Even after losing consecutive World Cup finals against dirty teams like Germany and Argentina. I think they finally realised after the way Portugal eliminated them at the last World Cup, that in today's game you need to play dirty. You yourself just hailed Suarez as one of the better players of this tournament. He plays for Ajax and I see him play every week, he is one of the dirtiest players I have ever seen. He constantly bitches for cards, he tumbles over as soon as he's controlled the ball etc. Also, the handsball against Ghana might be seen as a heroic action to save his nation, in reality it's more despicable than Zidane's headbutt last World Cup. Besides, the only players who really play dirty are De Jong and Van Bommel and that's to be expected of DM's.
This is true, I only intensely follow football during the World Cup times. And WC after WC, the Dutch as a team are dirty.
I hailed Suarez for his skill as a player, as I also just hailed the Dutch for their skills, they're a skilled team. I agree that Suarez handball was shit, I said so and I said I was happy he got a red-card and Ghana got to kick.
We'll see on Sunday, I do hope I'm wrong and you're right about the Dutch team; I do mean that, for the sake of the sport and the match.

Either way, I still don't think that our current team is exceptionally dirty, especially when you hold them next to teams like Brazil or Portugal.

I'd love to hear you explain that. Or have you only seen this World Cup and that of 2006? It's true that since the ''Bergkamp-Overmars-Stam''-era, there has been an increase in foul play from the Dutch side, and with exception of Van Hanegem, Gullit and Rijkaard we've never really had 'dirty' players.Either way, I still don't think that our current team is exceptionally dirty, especially when you hold them next to teams like Brazil or Portugal.
They are also disgusting spitters.

I recon the media made a meal out of that, the camera was probably a few meters away and footballers spit quick a lot for some reason.
Th Rijkaard V Voller spit was bad, but at least it was in the heat of play.
This is the worst Ive seen, if someone spat at me I´d do a Zidane but in the face.
I'm very neutral for this final, which is unusual. Wanted the Italians to win in 94 because of Baggio . Wanted France to win in the 98 final. Wanted the Germans to pull off an upset in the 02 final, and I wanted France to tear Italy apart in 06. But this time I just want the team that plays the best football on the day to win.

Both Spain and Holland made it to the WC with a 100% campaign and made it to the finals of the WC, but Holland was the team that won every game in said WC so far.
