I've read it several times. Humor me about your moronic stance again, why don't you?
Galactus prepped to fight Tyrant. He fed on a planet that made him feel more powerful than he had in ages (his words not mine) and he wanted to fight Tyrant in his base where he had the advantage (or so he thought). Tyrant was up against a fully fed Galactus and neither side was doing anything to the other which made Galactus resort to his machines to win. This backfired spectacularly as we saw on panel.
This wasn't the first time this happened, after the Herald Ordeal story line, Galactus fed on a planet. When Morg didn't return he set out to find him. Firelord and Airwalker noticed how pissed he was and said that whatever was standing in his way was as good as dead. Galactus got the drop on Tyrant and Tyrant caused him to back off without his herald. Surfer, who was awake for the later half of this showdown, called out Galactus on his backing out of a fight with Tyrant.
That's TWO different writers that had Tyrant as a match for Galactus : Marz and Lackey and went out of their way to mention it on panel. They were more direct than even Bendis. That should drive the point across to even the slowest readers but I guess it got passed you.

Stoic already explained it but since reading comprehension isn't your strong point and you have a habit of lowballing, I'll explain it again.
This is just hilarious.

This was due to Tyrant's powers. He was absorbing Galactus attacks and it made him more powerful by their own nature. It's like attacking Superman with yellow sunlight. It's only going to make him more powerful.
This had nothing to do with Tyrant's raw power which was sorely lacking against Galactus.

Tyrant was also powered up on the heroes he had drained.
Galactus backing off due to potential damage has nothing to do with Tyrant's standing with Galactus.

And Marz had Galactus defeat Tyrant at full power as shown in Cosmic Powers. But that's omitted as per usual. Typical flopflop.

Do you realize why Tyrant was a threat? He had the ability to drain Galactus to make a fight swing in his favor.
In the fight with Mangog Tyrant will not have this option. Actually, some will say that Mangog would be the one feeding off Tyrant.

Tyrant would have killed Galactus. If we aren't on the verge of forgetting all of the tools that they both brought to the fight, Galactus won, but if Galactus did not have any other individuals on the battlefield with him, Tyrant would have killed him. A well fed Galactus with no signs of fatigue would dust Odin, or Mangog, or perhaps even both together. One can never tell. My point is that neither has the power to defeat Galactus, while Tyrant went above and beyond this limitation. You're going to see it however you like, but Galactus is one of those characters, much like Darkseid, whose power level is extremely variable. The variable in this case far exceeds Odin, and Mangog's reach.

I said Odin would lose but it would be a good fight. So I don't understand your point really. You are ignoring my main point. It was a plot device that allowed Tyrant to compete. Tyrant drained Galactus energy. Without this device Tyrant is nothing to Galactus.
Against Mangog there is no such plot device, except that in favor of Mangog.
Tyrant would absorb Odin's power just like he would eat the billion billion beings known as Magog. There was no power source that he could not ingest ffs. Morg was infused with magic, which was recognized on panel by Galactus meaning that it further transformed him. Morg had become a magically charged cosmic entity. He drained Gladiator, a being of pure faith. He was draining the Silver Surfer, Jack of Heart, Ganymede, Beta Ray Thor, This did not stop Tyrant from draining them. I brought it up directly, to show that Tyrant wasn't picky about what he drained or whatever it was composed of. Shit Annihilus can drain Odin. Mangog would be no different.
You don't like the way his powers work, so he can't possibly win is all I'm reading from the Mangog supporters. Galactus hurt Tyrant, how the @#@#@ does that translate to Galactus was above him? He was able to get back into the fight after the assault. What was Tyrant supposed to do? Tank the assault??? Pshh. However when Tyrant launched his assault, Galactus could not free himself, which means that Galactus would have been killed and drained dry by Tyrant.
Anyway it still remains true that a well fed Galactus would deck Mangog, and Odin. They wouldn't get back up from the planet busting assaults that this guy throws. Tyrant was able to do so when he was smashed through a bulkhead,

Tyrant feeds off biosphere energy. He didn't drain anyone but Galactus energy. He used machines to drain the others. He showed no ability to drain heralds in combat.
Odin has nothing to do with anything here.
I'm not sure if I'm remembering this correctly, but I wanted to confirm or deny an aspect of Tyrant.
In a similar thread, a while back, somebody had stated that part of the reason Tyrant is such a threat to Galactus, isnt due to his own initial powers and abilities. But, because the way he was created, being OF Galactus and of the technology of Galactus. These traits allowing Tyrant to take from and use the power and technology at-will, giving him an edge no other character would have. Almost like a Galactus-specific virus.
This trait, however, means that tyrant's base power-level and abilities, when NOT in confrontation with Galactus, would be and should be much lower.
This would make the relationship between Tyrant and Galactus, somewhat similar to the relationship between Drax and Thanos. Being, Drax is nowhere near the power-level of Thanos, but, he "has his number", so to speak. Or had, or whatever.
My point being, is it true to say Tyrant, in battle with Galactus, is not exactly at the same power-level, when there is no Galactus-tech, or Galactus-power for him to siphon?

..was that supposed to contradict the fact that Tyrant is uniquely suited to counter Galactus, a factor that doesn't come into play with characters without that dynamic?
Or is intellectual honesty beyond you?

But this does not destroy the point. Tyrant is able to use a plot device to challenge Galactus. Other beings do not have that weakness. If Tyrant didn't utilize Galactus kryptonite, then he would be a lot lower.
Naturally, Tyrant is above high Herald. Possibly low to mid Skyfather.
Bottomline: If you are to fight a character that can drain your energy and to become stronger, then you will most definitely come to the fight fully charged in hopes that you can beat them before they become more powerful than you in the fight.
This is what Galactus did. He beat Tyrant before he became more powerful. He had to come to the battle with full energy though.
In truth, the design of the Tyrant character is smart. Because the introduction of a universe-class character is always disruptive to the continuity and heirarchy of the main "reality" it appears in.
So-
- The Tyrant character doesnt need to get placed in the pantheon of universal "bosses".
- Yet, it IS a major threat to Galactus.
- All, without diminishing the position or status of Galactus.
- But, I would imagine that if it defeated Galactus, it would also b replacing Galactus, or, inhereting what belongs to Galactus.
Smart.

What are you basing that opinion on, because it has nothing to do with canon. Tyrant was made to be an equal of Galactus. Pick up all of the issues that he was in. What the phuck has Mangog ever done? Who has he beaten? Don't tell me about Odin because Odin can not compare to Galactus no matter how far this BS is stretched.
Tyrant stomps hard.

You have no idea what you're talking about. Like I said, first you talk about how Mangog had less than trans level strength based on his encounters with Thor, and now he can beat a peer of Galactus. You have a big problem admitting when you're wrong, and make no mistake about it, you are wrong here. Mangog would be lucky if he could compete with the Sphinx. Tyrant would destroy the Sphinx based on what was written on panel. Again, what has Mangog ever done? What or who has Odin of yore beaten or done? Feats dude not lip service.
