So...what, was the approval of Darkness II an accident or something? How can you say no to Mortal Kombat when you allow that? What's their excuse? They can't still be playing the "it's too violent" card when they let in a game that tears people in half or yank skulls out of their arses and devour their hearts in the process.
Since this thread was brought back again, it's been rumored that almost everything on MK Vita is gonna be in the Komplete Edition.

If that's the case, they really did pull a Capcom move 🙁 (or rather, pulled a UMvcC3), unless they were to make that content DLC for the original game as well, which I kinda doubt at this point. Pretty much only want some of the extra costumes though.

Well it's not official; just a rumor for now. If it does happen though, I hope it's a one time only kind of deal for the series, and that this doesn't become a sort of standard for every fighting game released to do indefinitely. And depending on what all the new content is on Komplete edition (if there are any), chances are I won't get it anyway. Content enough with the original.
i dont feel like i am playing mortal kombat anymore, kratos? freddy? hey here is an idea why wont you give us shao kahn goro and kintaro instead of kratos and freddy? what are they doing in a mortal kombat game? lets also add in the next game megaman mario and aladin as secret characters and also the prince of persia as a DLC
soul calibur started this thing with bringing link and heihatchi into soul calibur 2, then they brought star wars characters into soul calibur 4 and now you got a street fighter vs tekken game that includes megaman and pacman, and you got a mortal kombat game that includes freddy kruger and kratos, where is zoro? i want zoro next as DLC

Past MK games didn't have the bosses playable either. So MK9 isn't the only offender. And if they were in they'd just be toned down. Not the powerful AI versions or else they would be banned from using online.

MK is about fighting period. It doesn't always take place in tournaments. People fight in many different areas besides just in tournaments. Also, this series features many types of fighters; shaolin monks, criminals, gods, ninjas, and so on. They even have special powers and some of them even reside in other worlds.
Freddy, a criminal with special powers who resides in another world (who, yes, fights when the time comes), fits in Mortal Kombat.
So stop looking only at the "child molestor" trait of him.

And? Freddy fights using his claws. Besides, that's a weak comparison, since Aladdin comes of a kids animated series by Disney and thus doesn't feature any of the same level of violence that Mortal Kombat features.

thats right mortal kombat is about fighting but not period, its also about the storyline and the concept of fighters that are fighting for realm vengence and whats not, freddy has nothing to do with fighting nor does he have anything to do with tournaments, putting freddy a seriel killer in a tournament arena and let him fight is same thing as putting the mensons in the UFC and say well they kill so lets put them in the ring and see how well are they going to fight
aladin while not being gory is still more of a fighter than freddy, he is acrobatic and slash enemies with his sword its still a better deal for mortal kombat than freddy who has nothing to do with fighting at all aside of having some glove with nails attached to it

Terrible comparison, since they don't allow killing in UFC, while people get killed a lot in the MK series. And in the end, the storyline and the characters are lead to one thing; fighting. No matter how much you try to deny that, fighting is the main point here. And you say Freddy has nothing to do with fighting when in fact, he has a whole darn movie centered around his fight with Jason.

What kind of enemies have Aladdin slashed at? Ridiculous monsters? 😂 I also noticed how all this time you brought up Aladdin, you never did mention how he would be involved in the tournaments.
Freddy, on the otherhand, has killed people in very gory ways (obviously). And as pointed out, he does fight when the time comes, in like in Freddy vs. Jason.
