My concern at the moment is how Morgan's gonna take seeing Rick now when the first thing he saw when they got back was Rick executing someone (which was rightfully done, but beside the point).
Even though there weren't any major deaths in the finale so to speak, there were parts of it that got pretty hard to watch for a minute or two there, not gonna lie.
Great finale, though. I wanted a little more closure with the father Gabriel and Glenn fiasco(s), but Rick stepping up as the next leader of Alexandria, and Morgan transforming into The Book of Eli before my very eyes, was more than enough to sate me.
In short, this episode did what a finale should do: left me wanting more. October can't come soon enough. 👆
Another hyped up and disappointing season finale. What is it with this show and the lame finales? So many good episodes leading up to it, building up to something great, but then they drop the ball. No reason for this episode to be 90 minutes. I was waiting for Morgan, Daryl, or Glen to bite the bullet, and they all got close at some point, but nothing happened.
I did enjoy Glen's scenes though. This season has made him one of my favorite characters. Not top 3 though. Those spots will always belong to Rick, Shane, and the Governor.
Still, weak finale.

So it sucked because a major character didn't die?
If they keep doing that every season finale then its basically the same thing as past finales.
Its good that they mixed it up. If not then it will be the same thing all the time.
"oh great another season finale that one of the core group member dies"
Pretty soon all the old core would be gone with that formula and be easily predicable what to expect.

Idk what you're talking about.

I realize a story doesn't need character deaths to be good, but when you hype something that big up, you need to deliver. The tag line for this episode was that "There will be blood." Who died? That old dude at the end and the drunk douche? Norman Reedus and the entire cast were hyping up this finale, saying it was going to be a tear jerker and to bring some cleanexes. The entire fanbase assumed it was going to be him that died, or that Glen was going to get murdered by the leader of the Wolves, or that Morgan was going to be dismembered by the Wolves thanks to that red herring last episode.
Instead, what did we get? Rick reiterating the same shit he said last episode with a different outcome? Some zombies getting in that led to absolutely no real consequences? The big villains that have been getting hyped up all season being raped in the face by Morgans new kung-fu skills? Some more zombie fodder killing from Daryl?
Literally the only interesting and well done scenes this episode were Glen's, which were tense as hell. I also loved the fact that he didn't kill that guy. He survived and was man enough to move on from it without killing the kid, even though it was well within his right to do so. Glen was awesome.
Otherwise, weak episode.

I think your problem is you expected the death of a main character to happen and it didn't, and that's a good thing. The one death that occurred was major, it just wasn't a main character. They didn't drop the ball, it's pointless just to kill a main character just for the sake of killing them, this isn't Game of Thrones.
As far as story development and keeping the episode entertaining, it was good. 👆

Fair enough, but I disagree.

My opinion of the finale is pretty much what Galan summed up here.
And about what the cast said; that's what they are suppose to do , hype up the finale to get more viewers. Even if they tried insinuating a death or whatever i guess that was a bit douchy but whatever. IMO it still was a good finale.
Also I liked that the finale left alot of unanswered questions so it will keep my anticipation for the next season.
Originally posted by MindsetGoT has big character deaths that lead and progress the story in major ways. For example, Glen being murdered by Negan as the leader of the Wolves would have set Ricks group on a huge collision course with a new villain who's been established as a legitimate threat and it would have lead to major character development for the cast as they deal with the loss. Could you imagine how amazing this would have been as a finale? I would have been counting the days till the next season to see the big clash.

Sure, we got the inevitable confrontation now anyways since the Wolves found the pictures of Alexandria, but the set up was beyond weak. We started the episode off with the Wolves being completely shat on. What is there to fear or be hyped for? I'm a sucker for good villains, and our new villains have been completely neutered.
They do this every time. The cannibals at Terminus were hyped up even more than this. I remember reading TWD forums and seeing all the fans making comments like "This is going to be our Red Wedding." People thought they were going to find Glen or Beth cannibalized. The cast hyped that up that finale beyond belief too. It honestly felt like a joke when Rick looked at the camera and gave that corny line. I've glad you guys enjoyed it, but I feel like I had the rug pulled out from under me again tbh. They promise something huge and momentous, which a season finale should have, but don't deliver. This felt like it was a random episode in the season. It didn't leave my hyped for whats to come at all.
Whatever though. I suppose Glen being alive is cool too, and we've got Morgan as a regular now so that's a plus.

Same, from Snatch, an episode of Lie To Me and he was in a great BBC show called Run. That show is probably still on Hulu.

Heh, Morgan has a very thick British accent irl. It's... Strange hearing him interviewed.
Check out some of the previous mentioned works of his if you would like to see him acting and speaking in his native accent. Lennie is an incredibly devoted actor.
Originally posted by MindsetRick does, but I already knew that from previous interviews. Totally forgot Morgan was in Snatch, though. Good call. 👆
Does Rick not?I knew Morgan from Snatch, so I guess I knew about his accent.
As for the ranting: this episode didn't need a character death. It was good enough on its own that it didn't have to go for the 'shock factor' of a integral character dying, like we've seen several times in the past now. This is not a bad thing. The finale was solid.
