Try reading the rest of the interview: " Shane [had] the same feeling in season two… He just went about it the wrong way." Rick is a better version of Shane, director approved. 👆

No one hates Rick, he's the best character, show or comic. Theres just no denying that other characters have him beat in certain areas.

Not to mention his complete character change this last season for the worst. The dude was ****ing awesome pre-season 5. These days I find myself just siding with him out of habit. Even his friends are like 'wtf'. Carol has done a better job at transitioning into an agreeable badass. Ricks just lost his mind after watching his son almost get raped. Honestly, his recent jump in character has been jarring.

No, the governor showed up and gave Rick an ultimatum. Silly me I thought you understood the episode. Rick begged him to reconsider and wanted to coexist. The governor then killed someone right in front of Rick. Rick lost the prison because he was stupid.

Quit ignoring the context. Rick got crushed. Palpatine despite dying is greater than Han Solo so you're while one guys alive and the other guys dead therefore he must be superior is laughable.
