-Nah, they're pretty good overall, especially this season, imo.
-Dude plays an excellent power-mad creep. No idea how what compares to the what he's supposed to be in the comics though. But the character is great in the show.
-I assumed as much. Two episodes in a row though of little pressure squishing a head like a tomato made me think that all you need in this apocalypse is a good baseball bat.
-True.
-Fair enough, I respect other opinions.
-Saw a screening of Dawn of the Dead recently hosted by Tom Savini himself. He said "I should've been the Governor!" Everybody just lost their shit. And I couldn't agree more.
The Governor was an iconic character in the comic and was it's highlight saga.
David Morrissey is such a stoic clean cut actor. The governor was a wildman who looked like an ex-biker with a sick mind and new how to lead a cult. The men he surrounded himself with were similar in nature.
Tom Savini would have been perfect for the role.
I'm interested to hear what others think of him playing the role.

This implies that zombies are ever a threat.
Very true now it's shown how squishy they are.

Honestly, I think the show is significantly better. The Governor is an actual character in the show rather than just a sick, evil bastard like in the comic.
Fair enough. Personally I have fonder memories of the comics harder and more viscous and more epic view on the Prison Saga.
The comic versions of the characters are also more likable if one was to die you feel it.
But in the TV counterpart when main characters die I don't seem to give a damn.
I guess that's because the comic had a hell of alot more character interaction. More intrigue and politics.
And the comic version of the Governor is many times more memorable personally.
