I'm about 95% sure that this isn't the first time the Apprentice has been cloned. After re-reading the scene where he wakes up after Vader betrayed and killed him, I'm almost positive that it was a clone. Like this bit for instance:
'The apprentice tried to think. He flexed his hands, marveling at his amazing return to health. It seemed almost too good to In-true.
A disconcerting thought occurred to him. He hastily tugged oft first his right glove, then the left. He was reassured to see only skin beneath-no synthetic materials or artificial joints. His knuckles moved the same as always; his fingernails were neat and even. The only odd detail was that his scars were gone.
He rubbed his right hand down his chest to his stomach, remembering the terrible wound his Master had inflicted. 1 It-thought of the damage raw vacuum did to human lungs. Bacta tanks performed miracles, but they weren't that good.'
and 'The apprentice ran a hand across his chest, feeling the smoothness of his uniform as though with entirely new nerves.'
Plus no-one could survive what happened to him.
Also, the TFU2 website is really effing wierd.
I'd hit that.
Spoiler:
And Gideon, for bringing it to my attention.
Srsly dho, why a small army of gun-toting... gunmen would rush the single dude with swords is beyond me. Before that happened I was astounded at how badass [and very shiny!] the stormtroopers appeared.
Also, sabers that cut this time, plz. I like plasma-soluble people and severed limbs, because it's a videogame and it's Star Wars and I don't have to think about how awful that is.
@Neph: That's an interesting theory. If I had more faith in LucasArts foresight, you might have convinced me.
I'm curious to see precisely when in the timeline this is set, though.
Spoiler:
y replace Luke?
on the idea of the thread though: Is what we just saw Canon? Because we have never seen any force user beat THAT many stormtroopers at one time. Galen is moving on up in the "most powerful" rankings, imo. And this is galen, is it not? It might be a clone, but it definitly has to have had an essence transfer as opposed to straight cloning technology, since he remembers things, right? So it still counts as Galen, not Gaalen.
