STAR WARS: RETROSPECTION- Respite

"I take it you think you could do better with a droid army?" Vera-Kin asks carefully.

"I would take better care of it," Wazo Kell says. "Tarne's men are all violent thugs with no talents other than killing. I've got all the men with all the talents."

Lightsabers don't work well underwater, Ti! I will rule that you'll need a moment to tinker with it to get it functioning properly. Do you have Fix-It?

Just in case, Xeth looks for a way around or through the filter that doesn't involve destroying it.

I have no Fix-It. That's presumably what my droid's for.

🙁

Then it is fortunate that Xeth manages to feel his way around and find a hatch that goes around the filter.

"How did you manage that?" Vera-Kin asks.

"It was passed down to me, you could say," Wazo Kell says. "I wasn't always in charge of this outfit. There was someone before me, and someone before that guy. This has been going on a long time, Jedi.

"In any case, I made some wins using speeders that I've kept up. It kept the outfit together and reduced the Maltites to a sad little cult. I heard you met them."

...

Ahh!

Xeth will quickly get Tilulla's attention and pull her up toward the hatch that he located. If it is locked, Xeth will try to smash the lock with the butt of his sonic blaster.

"How did you hear of that misadventure?" Vera-Kin asks.

I wasn't quite sure what was going on, and if I needed to do anything. I swim for the hatch. All this time underwater, and I think I'm doing worse than Xeth.

Xeth is made for this sort of thing.

The hatch is not locked and you pass through it just fine.

Xeth passes his check... but Ti fails! She is starting to need air badly. She swims frantically along with Xeth beside her...

And you come to the end of the pipe shortly after. There is space above for you to breath as the water continues into some sort of extensive filtering system.

-

"The Maltites have been broadcasting loudly about the 'Jedi intruders,'" says Wazo Kell. "Everyone knows you're here."

"So much for subtlety," Navir scoffs.

Filtering. Right. We continue to look for hand holds and hatches. Any chance we can cut out of the top of the pipe above the water?

The pipe has actually ended. You will have to surface to see where you are now.

Not a problem. I poke my head up, sloshing water out of my hair and clearing my eyes.

I suppose there's men with blasters standing around us. I'll smile sheepishly and wave if that's the case.

Xeth will surface with Ti, not sure what to expect above the water. He will be ready to dive again to get away from anything nasty.

Ti comes up expecting trouble! But there is none. You emerge into a grungy, rusted room with gangways crossing over the waterflow. You think this is intended for maintenance on the filters, or monitoring the filters.

It is empty but for the two Jedi that just emerged from the water.

What if we just trash stuff? Like, lightsaber to anything that might help the facility work. I know we're going for covert here, but, ya know, it's still covert if they don't find out about it until after we're gone.

Anyway, we make our best guess as to the main area of the facility and head that direction, leaping to the walkways as necessary.

I don't suppose Xeth can check for any alarms or anything without Fix-It? He doesn't want to totally ruin anything in the filter room if it is going to bring all of Tarne's men running.

Can he sense anyone nearby? And is there an exit from this room?

As Ti said, we're going to make for a main area so that we can figure out where, exactly, we are and decide what to do and where to go from here.

Indeed, you would need Fix-It for something of that sort.

There is a hatch leading out of this room. You don't sense anyone nearby. But you do sense a familiar presence.
