STAR WARS: RETROSPECTION- Respite

Started by Bespin Bart69 pages

Geez, at least my retreat out of there worked out...

Swap out Close Quarters, bring in Charge. Can Xeth attack a droid and move into cover again with the mobility that schtick brings?

Can I heal as I go or is it more of a sit and do nothing task?

Resting means resting, Vera. You might have opportunities to patch yourself up on the way, and the devices strapped to you will work as you go... but it's a longer, more painful process if you aren't just sitting still.

And Xeth - that would need a Dash thrown in there. Charge lets you attack on the go.

Then let's throw a Dash in there. Xeth will race from one protected place to another, cutting down Droid A in the move.

3-2 gives it to you. Xeth taps into the Force to give him a speedy edge, and he goes racing past Droid A with ease. Every die in your Agility pool showed a success (thanks to Alacrity, the 4's count). Your saber flashes through the droid with six successes, and while you expected the sparks of plasma-on-metal, you weren't quite ready for the whooshing explosion as the flamer droid's fuel tank ruptures, having been punctured with a superheated blade.

The Dash puts you out of reach of the flames, which spray a short vicinity around the droid. Almost as if it were designed to do that.

The bombardment of fireballs and plasma streams immediately melts your cover, and you take 9 damage as liquifying metal collapses around you.

Ehh... I think Xeth wants to retreat from this situation and see what Navir is up to.

You can certainly run away! Navir has not had much time to set up the mines effectively, though.

Do I know how long I need to stay up? I don't think I will... Unless I can draw the droids into the ruins and pick them off one by one.

From what you can tell, they will hold formation if they come after you.

You should probably get out of there, Xeth.

Vera-Kin will make preparations to leave, once she is at least able to do that. She grabs her lightsaber.

Remember, Vera, you currently clock in at 60 damage based on how severe your injuries were. You need to rest up before you can even move; once you can do that, you can make medical rolls on yourself.

Barker needs to heal too, but lacks Intrusion.

Yeah Xeth is going to retreat; otherwise, he goes down and this gets messy.

Then Xeth flees the scene! You move away from the enemy troops, back in the direction that Navir was setting up mines. You discover him quickly, trying to install another.

"What are you doing back so soon?" Navir asks. He notes your scorched robes. "That bad, huh? I'm not even finished!"

"We've got to go," Xeth says. "This didn't go according to plan. There's too many."

Vera-Kin will keep resting then!

Navir will reluctantly leave his activity, then, since Xeth can't take over and can't fight on.

Vera-Kin goes on a-restin'!

I will update the battlefield as the enemy forces make their moves...

Whenever you're ready, Mr. GM.

Needless to say, with Xeth having been unsuccessful in delaying the flamethrower droids, the attempt to lay mines proves just as unsuccessful as Navir needs to help Xeth get out of there, shooting down a few droids that discover them before making it back across friendly battle lines.

With Master Vera-Kin having advised him to launch the attack, Kell orders his troops forward in the Left Debris Field and on the Speedway! He holds his position within the Ruins for now for defensive reasons.

In the Left Debris Field, Kell's men surge forward and fire on the super droids and rocket droids out in the open. With things sitting at Evens, the roll for 4 makes this a straight Firefight, but the result shifts to a 3 when the Vulture droids get involved and force Kell's men to take cover from aerial bombardment and the rocket droids' explosive weapons. A hit is dealt to both sides.

On the Speedway, a fast-paced battle begins as speederbikes and STAPs zip about exchanging fire. With the support of the rocket droids, the battle sits at 3:2 ratio. A result of 1 is a Firefight, with two hits inflicted to Kell's bikers.

The droids are going to advance! Xeth, do you want to get involved, or rest up from the beating you just took?

I can't move anything this turn, right? Xeth will rest up with Vera-Kin and tend to his burns.

"I can't believe I messed that up," Xeth complains, in regards to planting the mines.
