Except as noted it's their reflexes and enhanced vision given to them by the nth metal that allows them to do that.

he is talking about a hawkman feat and applying it to kendra,, with seeing fast moving objects like the flash but in his same statement i think he referenced the beating of a hummingbird wings to justify his ability to see certain speedsters like the flash..
