Team in WW3 did fight dumb. Generally teams do that when a writer is showcasing a character.

Surfer in BT arc had some dumb moments too.
One scene Thor missed him with a hammer throw. Then while Thor is floating still in space Surfer is missing him with his blasts. What was that? When does Surfer miss a still target?
Not only that, he allows Thor to get the hammer back from the missed throw and fly towards Surfer and whack the shit out of Surfer without any incident on Surfer's part.
Was Surfer mesmerized?

Comic fights are stupid sometimes. Not because of the character's intelligence but because of bad writing. Writer's don't know how to write a decent fight sometimes.

Or a bazillion critical misses. Thor was without his hammer for awhile. Surfer couldn't land one stanking blast.

Thor dodged the first strike. He arced his body with the throw. Then Surfer rushed Thor which let him get his hammer back. Surfer has a history of being dumb that way though.

Surfer can emit blasts large as city blocks. Yes he shot a narrow blast but he can easily have adjusted it (while it's beaming out of his hands) to hit Thor. Or just fired another shot (We don't really know if Surfer only shot once after the hammer throw do we?)

Surfer's history of being dumb is what gives Superman a chance against him.

It's the writer's fault. I don't believe Surfer is that dumb though. So that's why I still say he beats Superman. He's just too powerful and thus you need him to fight dumb to give most heralds a chance.

Lol? Thor fought other elite bricks, including Bill. Pretty much everyone besides Thanos got wrecked trying to fight Thor head on. Which is exactly what would happen to Adam.
All the other bricks? Drax, Maxam and who else? Both of these guys are below Adam in strength. Heck, Drax couldn't even overpower Thor while tapping into PG.

It certainly is when they're tackling him like Kryptonians. He broke John's ribs by tossing Power Girl at him, they weren't even using auto-shields apparently. Just horrible.
No. GLs keep their auto-shields on everytime even if its not shown explicitly.

I don't consider Power Girl an elite. Probably not Guy or John either.

Under Ostrander who wrote that scene, Malefic nearly killed Diana with a blocked martian vision blast. That's not a low showing.

Except we know that nobody there was stronger than adam. Jay might've been faster and thunderbolt more powerful, but stronger? Ostrander was on crack.

@Abhilegend--guys were trying to tackle him and holding back. Adam didn't hold back. So on top of fighting like idiots the comic plainly states they were holding back. Thor wins as he's far more powerful than Adam. Hammer is going to break him.
