Think something closer to "anarachy".
I would think that something like the Kroger group would be an excellent example of a "public" health insurance option run by the "people." Doctors, hospitals, facilities, and the insurance are all part of the same group. It's run better than most of the hybrid options in Europe. 🙂
Absolutely not!
It will create an influx of hate.
Private businesses already do discriminate, just not rightfully. The law preventing them from doing so keeps them in line. If it did not exist there would be mass unbalance with employment status on many level - race, religion, sex, age, etc.
It would affect the economy in many ways.

In what ways?
You mean that women would get paid less, on average, for the same job and qualifications as males?
You mean that minorities would have disproportionate pay?
You mean that minorities would have disproportionate educational opportunities?
awesome
I think private businesses should have the right to refuse service to anyone they don't want to serve. Assuming refusing service simply means turning people away, and not actively harming anyone in the process. Although I wouldn't apply this to private businesses that provide some sort of necessity (hospitals, grocery stores, utility companies, etc).

most businesses are EOE because if they want their business to grow larger and make more money, they gonna have to deal with other people's race/color/religion/sexual orientation.
if your indescriminate when you hire people. you have more options.
if your descriminate people, you have limited options
If you are to descriminate people. descriminate against people who lack competent skills. not based on race/color/religion/sexual orientation

That's right. They should be able to discriminate based on any quality--skin color, ethnicity, age, sexual orientation, religious affiliation, and so on. If that means that the owner wants to put up a sign that says "NO COLOREDS" or "WHITES ONLY" in front, he should be able to do so.Discuss why you disagree with me. Go.
As a community we should strive for positive moral idealism. I don't think personal beliefs, in the way of race, should be included in the hiring of Employers.

Private business already has too much power in our society. The current laws, especially about age discrimination, aren't strong enough. Private business should be here to serve society, not be it's master.
I agree. the track record of government is spotless in comparison to business

We have three choices to run our society...government, corporations, or religion. As imperfect as it is I would rather have government do it than the other two. The libertarian fantasy of "freedom for everyone" is just that. Humans are heirarchical by nature, we will always follow leaders.
