DC Universe Online

I got mad love for this MMO. In general got more love for DC than Marvel, not even really looking forward to the Marvel MMO, they won't let you create your own character but we will see how it goes.

I'm looking forward to the new Earth Powers DLC next month. I'm making Moses Magnum, and possibly Terrax. Can't wait til the Quantum Powers and Captain Atom/Firestorm DLC drops in May/June (assuming the rumors are true).

Has anyone else been reading the comic tie-in? I actually like it. It's been pretty solid, IMO, and since it comes out every 2 weeks, you get a lot of them in a short timeframe.

I wasn't aware there was a comic tie-in. Is it available online?

That is how I'm collecting it.

It actually made me want to play the game again - which I hadn't done in a while. Finally got me some heat vision.

I'm starting to collect T3 gear now. Just completed my DPS Central City set and running the Fortress of Solitude Raids. The new DLC drops in 10 days and I plan to be ready.

How good is it? I kept looking for a free trial when it came out but gave up a while back and haven't kept up to date with the reviews and what-not.

It's fun, and ties in really well with the mythos imo.

It's pretty much the only game I play now since I started playing it. I shelved GOWII and pushed back buying Deus Ex, Skyrim, and Mass Effect so I wouldn't be distracted/waste money, particularly since I joined a league and am doing the raid content. There's some annoying technical issues (game is prone to lags/freezes when there's too much going on on the screen/too many players in close proximity [like 20+]). Beyond that, very solid 4.25-4.5/5 IMO. Only reason it's not a 5 is technical issues and desire for more powers/means of travel, which will likely be resolved in coming updates and dlc releases.

it's comparable, definitely.

I only really played WoW and AoC. Don't know how people manage to play WoW for years on end. After less than a year I was pretty bored by it.

I have been wanting to play another MMO for a while though, I might check it out.

EDIT: And of course having comic characters in it is a plus. Was always disappointed the Marvel MMO was cancelled.

Yeah, I'd say it's comparable, and I personally prefer the gameplay of DCUO as it's more of a button masher action RPG than a turn based or point and click RPG. For an idea of DCUO, think of a mash up of Hulk: Ultimate Destruction and Marvel: Ultimate Alliance with a light splash of God of War, and then take that and make it an MMO.

Been considering picking this back up, what has been added in the past few months?
