Avatar: The Legend of Korra

"The Legend Of Korra has Mako, which is supposed to be the Love Interest for the main character, Korra. Instead, his indecisiveness, blaming his brother for his problems and liking two girls at once has led to a huge Hatedom that even the creators have acknowledged (and told fans to behave themselves at Comi-Con). Fans hate Mako so much that they are sending messages on Twitter to David Faustino about how bad Mako is. "

Mako is officially a Scrappy. Neat.

Lol.

That is so sad, but I'm totally one of them.

Dun be mean to David. His voice acting was actually pretty good all things considered. I just think he wasn't designed well as a character. The idea behind Mako is okayish but the execution is pretty poor.

And I want to see the creators acknowledge the hatedome. I demand you find it.

I just finished watching TLA from season 1 to the series finale. So time for a new top ten! For favorite fights. You can even include Korra fights.

10. Azula vs Aang(the Drill): I remember this fight because I just liked how creative it seemed and it was good to see one of the kid heroes finally did some good against Azula, who'd seemed untouchable. Loses points for some PIS and being smaller scaled but I enjoyed it.

9. Sokka vs Piandao: A good sword fight. I've always been partial to swashbuckling but I just really enjoyed how creative the fight was. And it's just so rare to see Sokka getting a good fight. I just liked it.

8. Korra vs Tarrlok: The only Korra fight on here but I loved every minute of it. The mood, the speed, and the creativity all do the traditional series justice while allowing us to see what makes the newer series good. Great atmosphere, great creativity, and a twist reveal at the end. Korra has problems as a series but this fight was just really damn good.

7. Swamp Monster(Huu) vs Team Avatar: I think this is a choice that would probably only appear on my type of list but I don't know, this fight has always stuck out to me. I like how Huu uses the swamp vines to his advantage and how Team Avatar has to chip away at it. Katara using several water blades before Aang delivers the final blow. I dunno, I thought it was awesome.

6. Jet vs Aang: This is what you call a non-bender competing with a bender in action. The Lieutenant needs to learn to be as cool as Jet. This fight always stuck with me because I love the location and I love how creative Jet was with his weapons, at one point even being able to by all rights beat Aang. I thought it was a cool battle in the tree tops and a cool example of how benders aren't the only ones who can fight.

5. Zuko and June vs Team Avatar: This was the best fight between part 1 Zuko and Aang. It was awesomely choreographed and very memorable, particularly the fight above the well. Even Appa got in on the action, fighting another giant creature. It all ends with some creativity from Sokka, which is always fun.

4. Battle for Omashu(Ozai's Angels vs Team Avatar+Bumi): Fun fact-If there is a fight that involves a lot of running through a city, I'll probably like it. I just thought this fight was all kinds of cool. It was the first time we got to see the new villains in real action and what better way that using the Omashu delivery system? Ty Lee got to be cool, as did Appa. And the battle ultimately ends with Bumi pwning Azula with his face, like an old guy who has had enough of this wrecking his city. Awesome old man.

3. Avatar Aang vs Firelord Ozai: No city but there was a lot of jumping around in this fight. There was quite a bit creativity and drama in the fight, making it all feel grandiose and important. A few moments of PIS aide and the fact that Ozai turned cowardly at the end doesn't change the fact that this fight just felt awesomely epic in pretty much every way.

2. Zuko and Azula(and the Dai Li) vs Aang and Katara(and Iroh): Yeah it was really hard not putting this at number 1. This fight had the best and most memorable location and had some of the coolest moments, like Katara restraining Azula, Zuko going toe to toe with Katara after saving his sister, and watching Azula pwn the shit out of Aang. It all ends with what should be the greatest moment in the series turning into one of the most dramatic turnarounds. It was just so freaking cool to see how this fight played out and the interference from the Dai-Li and Iroh felt very natural.

1. The Last Agni Kai- Zuko and Katara vs Azula: I hate to be the guy that picks this but honestly, this was the best fight in the series for me. It was dramatic, it was beautiful, it was even clever at times. It was just so perfectly presented. I used to have such a problem with Katara's interference at the end but now I can see that it still works just as well. I just really loved this fight. The music, the art, the choreography...all of it just works perfectly. And it culminates the story of the war and the three characters involved. I have nothing else to say except I though it was perfect.

But those are my favorite fights. What are yours? Or you can ignore me if you like.

Yeah, pretty much.

I would make some changes though. There were more awesome fights that I feel were better than some of the lower ones:

Toph vs the Wrestlers: Toph completely pwning these guys was so cool. Tophs so cool. But also I just like how it perfectly showcases her fighting style in creative ways.

Azula vs Aang vs Zuko: Not as good as the others, but I did like the choreography and seeing a 3-way fight is always cool.

Combustion Man vs the Gaang Round 1: Holy Shit does this get over the top. Aang jumping off his explosion, turning in midair and punching through a rock pillar really showcases just how skilled a bender Aang is. And of course Combustion Man is so fvcking overpowered.

The Gaangs assault on the Earth Palace: Epic bending. What more needs to be said. A perfect example of the scope of TLA benders, as the Gaang run through all resistence they meet.

Katara vs Pakku: Its good because it showcases Kataras growth and what a complete dick Pakku is. I do like that she doesn't win, because if she did then why would she need training? But she shows her skill and why she becomes the Greatest Waterbender in the World.

Azula and the Dai Li vs Aang, Toph and Sokka: I just like Azula trolling the shit out of them.

Aang vs Zhao: I like Aang trolling the shit out of him. Trolling is fun.

Zuko vs Azula and Aang vs Ozai (play version): Ahahaha, that episode was so good.

I don't know how my list would go though.

No Korra fights?

I never care for battles that are too stompy, which was the case with Toph's wrestler battles. And is somewhat the case of Azula vs Zuko/Team Avatar since even when they had her cornered she basically showed them all up. I also found Combustion man boring so I didn't care for any of his fights. The Katara vs Pakku fight just annoyed me, mostly because Katara had never shown such skill before hand and it just felt forced. And I dun care for troll fights.

Of course, the best fights transcend the list. Such as Momo vs the Parrot thing and THIS.

season 2 picked up

So around 50 episodes apparently. Decent amount....

But what in the world are they supposed to do with the plot? Korra is literally a fully realized Avatar now apparently. No one, save perhaps the spirits I guess, can do anything about that. Where is her character supposed to go? 😐

Avtaar an animated movie is really awesome. Have seen thrice in the cinema hall. Just loved it with the 3d affect.

Haven't had a chance to run through season 1 in a while, but there are some fights that stand out to me in memory.

Zuko vs. Earth Kingdom Soldiers: This is during the time when Zuko is wandering the Earth Kingdom solo. He comes across a village and has a very western-style mystery man feel going on. This culminates in him confronting the soldiers that were effectively bullying the town. What I liked best about it was it allowed him to demonstrate his skill with weapons, which I'll admit does get shown off during his times as the Blue Spirit, but this felt more...I don't know, focused (probably the wrong word). At the same time, it also showed what significant advantage being a bender actually is. In fact, if I'm honest with myself, I like a lot of the Last Airbender's non-bender fights, though I don't count Ty Lee in that because she's a chi blocker, which level the playing field some.

Sounds fun...except for the whole "Mako is now a super cool cop" and "Korra spams Avatar State lol". Why did they give her that? I mean...I guess it's supposed to teach her a lesson not to abuse her power but I mean...what can anyone do to the Avatar State? It beats everything.

For some reason the link isn't working.

Yours isn't working for me either...

Weird. Shall I just copy and paste?

So...whatever happened to the whole "Avatar State" being a defense mechanism and the weakness it had so that it couldn't be spammed?

So the spirits are going to get pissed off at Korra for some reason? Didn't the same think happen with Koh messing with Koruk?

I'll be interesting to see Korra try and control herself around Koh.

And by interesting I mean lol, good ****ing luck. Korra has the self-control of a prison inmate after someone just dropped the soap. Her face is gone.

She's the f***ing Avatar. She'll Avatar state-bend her face back.

Considerng how even Aang with spiritual guidance had to take caution I doubt Korra would have much luk.

I wonder if she'd ever try to contact Koruk if she ever encountered Koh though. Dude did come close to almost killing him.

Having just rewatched all of Airbender, this made me d'awww.

I really do like Korra as a character, even if I wish she'd have had some actual development beyond getting a boyfriend. Also it would have been cool to see her be a bit more badass like she was in the first episode.
