Solar flare threat

For those who don´t know a massive solar eruption of August 7th might affect Earth. "Newly-arriving data from the Solar and Heliospheric Observatory (SOHO) show a CME heading our way with a significant Earth-directed component." Source SOHO (Solar and Heliospheric Observatory). Below is a picture of the flare, the big black circle is the sun blocked out, enabling the probe to view the flares without "light polution", so you can imagine how big the flare is.

It´s not a "doomsday" end of the world event by any means, but can affect the power grid, satellites and produce epic "Auroa". Has anyone seen anything in the night sky, especially those who reside in the far north?

The sun is also entering an more active phase of its cycle so there may be more to come.

It hasn't hit us yet. The light from the flare reached us on the 7th but the CME is much slower.

my kitchen... also rub tart if you wanna know what i am thinking..

i am juggling the caloric intake of the bun and what i will have to give up during the day to stay within my allotted self imposed numbers and if i will have to run a set distance to work it off if i pass said numbers..
