Rented it last night, only got about two hours in. I guess I was more tired than I thought because I can't remember exactly where I was. I think I just had that talk with Elizabeth after
Spoiler:
her seeing you kill people for the first time. That whole scene was eerie to me because I KNEW that girl that asked her name was going to do something.
Also does anyone know if the choices have a huge impact on the story, without spoiling anything?
I can think of three off the top of my head,
Spoiler:
the raffle where you can throw the ball at the couple or the raffler, Elizabeth's necklace, and shooting first.
My personal favorites were Murder of crows it looks damn cool and also stuns multiple enemies and Undertow cause you can pull in enemies from a distance while also stuning them..I think its the most overpowered vigor all you have to do is come out of the cover use it to pull enemies in and kill them and the end I was only using Undertow...it even work on patriots...
I rocked possession, fireball and lightning bolt. Almost used the sniper rifle and shotgun exclusively. Kept things simple.
As for the story...
Spoiler:
I kept getting this romantic vibe between Booker and Elizabeth. Was hell vent on getting rid of Comstock for Elizabeth's sake so we could go to Paris and have little Booker Jrs running around. Then the end starts playing itself and I get OMGWTFBBQ'ed and then drowned by my infinite daughters...Dayum.
Ironic that the game had Elizabeth opening up a reality with a star wars sign and then we get a sorta Star wars
Spoiler:
relationship with Booker and Elizabeth, it was like Luke and Leia...they get close and then it's like 'Wait...they're relatted?!?' Which is kinda what I got when I found out Booker is Elizabeth' father
I thought game length was alright. Think it took me around 12 hours to beat. Seems like the length of this game is heavily based on how thorough you are at exploring. I imagine you could easily play for over 15 hours if you really explore heavily.
The only problem I had is that the frame rate dropped on the X360 version pretty heavily at certain parts, particularly at the end during a very heavy and intense battle.
I played on 360 and never had that happen.
There were a handful of small problems with the game I had but the main one was randomly getting stuck on objects. eg, going around a corner or up the stairs and getting caught and having to jump to get unstuck.
Textures popped in sometimes but that was to be expected I guess.
Lighting/shadows were weird. For example in
Spoiler:
Comstock's house there's a portion where you have to avoid the Boys of Silence by staying out of their light. I was hiding behind a box and lighting went straight through it without casting a shadow.
Also only being able to carry two guns was annoying, especially since you could carry ammo for any weapon.
You mean the sudden framerate drops? Those happen at Ultra and Very High settings. Normal settings are fine. For 360 I don't know, but it wouldn't surprise me.
I encountered most of those problems too except for the lightning because I was playing on Ultra. Getting stuck was annoying as all ****. Especially when you were getting rushed by patriots or the crow guys.
