Bioshock Infinite

Beat the game last night. I thought it was great and the end was very fitting.

My biggest problems with the story was

Spoiler:
that the Songbird seemed to be underutilized. His ending was great, but I feel he should have had more of a presence in the middle of the game. A few more moments with him chasing after you would have gone a lone way IMO.

I wanted a boss battle with songbird 🙁

I enjoyed seeing

Spoiler:
rapture

You don't fight Songbird?! WTF?! I haven't even finished the game yet and was anticipating a glorious battle with it. Lame!

There are many things I wanted to do. I did want to fight songbird. What made me feel a little "meh" about the ending is how

Spoiler:
cold and robotic Elizabeth seemed. Poor Booker deserved better....well maybe not Booker but I did! >_< Damn it. After everything I went through...not a single thanks. Tch. Anyways done ranting.

So was I, but I didn't get any fight with it at all...got attacked by it a few times in some cutscenes...but that was it 🙁 I wanted an epic final battle with that bastard bird!

Aye.

I thought game length was alright. Think it took me around 12 hours to beat. Seems like the length of this game is heavily based on how thorough you are at exploring. I imagine you could easily play for over 15 hours if you really explore heavily.

The only problem I had is that the frame rate dropped on the X360 version pretty heavily at certain parts, particularly at the end during a very heavy and intense battle.

Yeah, it took me around 15 hours and I searched every nook a cranny.

It's a great length. Any more and it would of been a bit too much. I didn't get the same feeling I had with Bioshock where it felt it padded it's length at the end.

It's a perfect length.

Overall, I loved the game. Fantastic. The ending was great.

Just having played it, I think I liked Bioshock better the first time through. I felt I liked the setting a bit better and the story. It had more of an impact for me. But the action in Infinite and combat mechanics are much better.

I thought the story was a lot better in Infinite. Better characters and a much more fleshed out and thoughtful ending.

I agree about the padding of the first game. That was something this game avoided.

I agree that the story was better as well as the ending.

But there is a few times in the game where I was like, "what the hell am I doing again". Maybe it was the way it was told but in Bioshock, I always knew where I was going and I felt compelled to get there. I didn't get that same feeling. It might just be that I enjoyed Rapture much more than I enjoyed Columbia and kind of missed how they didn't really get into the nuts and bolts about the place. I guess I felt Rapture was more alive.

I also felt Ryan was a more compelling character than Comstock.

This doesn't mean I didn't enjoy everything about Infinite but I think I liked Bioshock a bit better.

Constants and variables.

Bioshock Infinite is breathtakingly amazing on every level.

I must say, though, that some of the racism in this game is blatantly jaw dropping. Then again, the game is set in the year 1912, but it's still quite appalling to see how nonchalantly people spewed racism. I feel like I'm watching Django Unchained at times.

I consider that doing it right. If racism was blatant in that time, and everyone was cool with each other, I'd be thinking to myself, "What?"

I agree.

I was just taken aback at first, is all. To ignore what the past was like would be an insult to the authenticity of the game.

Oh yeah. If a game can actually make you go, that's f*cked up, and then you realize that things really used to be that way. Job well done.

YouTube video

Found an easy method to get the Handyman achievement...
All you have to do is jump on the skyline when he is near you.... he will follow up to shock you then jump down and while he is attacking you can easily shoot him 2 times with the sniper in the heart after he release skyline he will also "cough" then you can shoot him the third time....then repeat....

What would've made infinite better for me was:

1: Being able to hold more than 2 weapons, being limited to 2 weapons IMO was complete bullshit. Being able to carry more weapons would've been a whole lot more useful and I would've ran out of a whole lot less ammo everytime I went up against a handyman or that ghost lady who was a very, very annoying boss to face.
2: A songbird boss battle, the songbird was just begging for a boss battle due to the fact that through out the game in cutscenes you get attacked by the flying bastard. I wanted vengeance, I wanted to hop on a skyline, fly through the air, land on that flying piece of shit and fill it's beaky head full of lead and shotgun shells.
3: Alternate endings, why were they not in this game? I honestly went through the game making certains decisions thinking 'This'll get me the good/happy ending.' But no, whatever choices I make it'll be the same ending over and over again which to me is soooo dissapointing and I love alternate endings because it makes your choices through out the game seem so much more important and meaningful.

Infinate was good, but I'd still choose the first game over it any day 😬

But then they couldn't charge you for that pleasure as DLC, trolololololololol!

I bet one of the attacks is songbird shitting on me, the irony being of course me paying for that pleasure is like 2K shitting on me...

I just beat the game and I've gotta say that ending was....great to say the least.

Granted I probably should've played previous Bioshock games because getting used to the controls was a bit of a challenge. Though I was frustrated when

Spoiler:
fighting Ghost Mrs.Comstock 3 times. I actually think that was the hardest part in the game
