Tekken X Street Fighter

Well here's one ansatsuken pose as well as Chun-Li's, but using Heihachi and Nina skins. Also shows what one version of the shoryuken will look like.YouTube video
Just Hirada teasing like a stupid idiot.

And these are excellent models for Guile/Bison:YouTube video

That last vid is fake.

Would be freaking awesome was the point.

And how are you aware of "the point". You are not him, are you?

He said "excellent models" did he not? I'd think that'd equate to awesome.

street fighter x tekken looks like it should be a side game you can play in scenario campaigne in tekken x street fighter. that's if it were to have a campaigne.

Sure wish this was Tekken vs. Dead or Alive instead.

Now that I think about it, that would be cooler. Much cooler.

or even better (and finally) mk vs street fighter in (2d) w/fatalities using sf's engine.

Yeah that too.

I'm just disappointed that both Capcom and Namco missed their marks on much better crossovers. Namco could have picked either Sega or Tecmo to do a crossover game with. Of course, in the case of Tecmo, they couldn't have always been possible this since Itagaki hates Tekken but since he's gone, I think they should make it happen.

And as for Capcom, they could have at least waited until like after MK9 was released and then decide to do a SFvsMK (heck they could do two different versions like in this case, with other one done by NRS). Heck, I would have also liked a Shonen Jump vs. Capcom at the same time (with Niitsuma behind that).

But Street Fighter against Tekken? Who the heck asked for that? 😐 Even Ono said that Tekken vs. Virtua Fighter is an obvious idea but that's EXACTLY why is should have happened by now.

Honestly, despite being SLIGHTLY interested in the idea (my only interest is how well one series characters translate to the game of the other), I was never really excited about this concept and was even hoping it wasn't true. They need to just go on ahead and do some obvious crossovers first before moving on to an idea like this.

If they could balance the system mechanics between the two, that would be a great game.

don't forget the namco and capcom (and nrs) are business companies that're there to make a profit first and foremost.

tekken happens to be the most popular 3d fighter and street fighter the most popular 2d fighter. combining the 2 would equate into a cash cow then all else come afterwords. they're not looking at niche markets, they're looking for a mass quantity of buyers who use or in this case play, the product alot.

sxt will no doubt be the top fighter of 2012 and they know this.

Most popular 3D and 2D fighting games? I don't think so. They still got their own competition going on and also, I don't think all that is a good reason for them to make these games. Just because they're big names in the business doesn't mean they'd make a good mix up. Instead, why don't they just give us what fans have been demanding all these years? They would have worked out much better than these games.

SFxT being top fighter in 2012? If they don't improve on what was shown in the last gameplay vids, then it probably won't be anywhere close to the top.

Street Fighter and Tekken are definitely the most popular of their respective scenes. You can argue all you want about 2nd tier games like Mortal Kombat, DoA, King of Fighters of whatever, but popularity can be objectively proven by sales. Look at the sales.

They're just highly well-known. Popularity is another thing and the sales got nothing to do with their popularity.

It doesn't change the fact that they still got competitions in their own scenes that has proven to be a threat to them. People aren't gonna overlook that, no matter how "popular" Tekken and Street Fighter are.

Sales don't mean well known. wtf. Sales mean people who go out and buy the game. If, for the sake of example, Mortal Kombat was more popular than Street Fighter, why would less people go out and buy Mortal Kombat, then street fighter?

Mortal Kombat is steadily re-establishing itself. IIRC it already outsold MVC 3, and is steadily approaching a million units. It's definitely heading in the right direction...

I really hope it sells well enough they do a sequel and use the same game mechanics. Like you said, it's definitely heading in the right direction.

You have to be more specific than that because it depends on what game each company released at the time.

I think they've finally nailed down the right engine/mechanics, and based on sales so far (plus the buzz created by legacy), not making a sequel would be a surprise to me...
