I think Steve just has to much Combat experience for Daken to take right now. Daken is... too raw. Unrefined in his techniques. He wastes a lot of time gloating and monologueing IMO. Also his fighting style comes off to me as too wild for what he can tank. He tends to rush in and try to beat his opponents senseless and let his healing factor let him soak up anything in return. He gets into trouble when fighting even moderate level bricks or highly skilled hand to hand fighters who know how to deal with street brawlers. Steve can deal with his fighting abilities pheromones or not.
Daken needs another 5-10 years of experience to be able to get the discipline he needs to take on higher end hand to hand fighters.
