While I don't agree with some of the sentiments coming from Iran, I don't think they are doing anything but defend themselves from an hostile environment.
However, there is lots of civil unrest, at times, in Iran. Me thinks that any 'government' problems will work themselves out. Hopefully, all internally.

That unrest likely comes because powers in the West fuel those people/groups that want change. Iran has a good way of dealing with them though, imprisonment, torture and/or execution.

Iran has been trying to become the top dog of the Middle East since the days of the Shah, they have an intense hatred for the Arabs, Jews, Greeks and anybody else who isnt Persian.
Them having nukes will be danger to all its neighbours.

I'd honestly say that the "hearts and minds" - "boots on the ground" stuff is what we actually do best as a military. The Americans asked us to not come to Iraq and take a lead role in Afghanistan for this reason (reported by the CBC). I can't think of any really good examples of us occupying anything, Dalaire in Rwanda is sort of analogous (UN general during the Rwandian genocide, was given no forces and refused to come home, basically tried to play diplomat to all sides), but we aren't a "shock and awe" military, almost by necessity (no $$)
LOL, I almost didn't type that, because I wouldn't be suprised to find out Iran had better bombers/fighters/tanks or whatever than we did (though probably not in every category).

Yes, but the Iranians are outclassed militarily by several nearby states, including Pakistan, who is also a nuclear power.
There is no reason to think MAD doesn't hold for Iran, and I tend to see their nuclear program as a defensive measure.

Its funny you should say that because Iran is one of India's closest ally and will even let India use it's airbases to attack Pakistan in case of a war.

Not ALL Greeks, but Persians have a terrible account of Alexander the Great, and even worse of Genghis Khan (but hey, who doesn't, eh?) and hardcore nationalists are angry at the Arabs for all the library burning (same as Khan) and for subjugating the great Persia.
However, now, they're angry because in the last 15 years giving your kids Persian names is seen as unfavourable, but better to give them Arabic.
Besides, I believe they're Shi'a and therefore not very well liked or liking Sunnis...
But as a nation, I think they're sound. Shah wasn't the worse thing that happened to Iran. Iranian intellectuals during the revolution underestimated radical religious figures as 'stupid'...turns out, they weren't.

yes, but by that extension Pakistan is an ally of Saudi Arabia and China
but lets by realistic, in an Iran-Pakistan war, those nations would probably know better than to start ww3. The scale of the conflict we could extrapolate from this is biblical.

Iranians would get there asses kicked so bad if they attack Pakistan, Pakistan has kept India in check since 1947 and India has 10 times the population and 3 times bigger military.
I dont support Israel's right to exist but they would doing Pakistan a huge favour when they take out Iran

People should leave Iran alone for no other reason than it is a powder keg. There is so much social unrest, and the clerics hold on power is so tenious, it would collapse if not for the fact they can terrify people with threats of war with America or nuclear bombs.
EDIT2: also, isn't Pakistan's history of war with India a little less than glorious?
My issue with it isn't really that they suck for doing this; countries create new technology all the time. My problem with this is that the technology sucks. What is the point of this creation? Maybe I'm just misunderstanding? Do we not already have unmanned strike fighters? I don't see how this is supposed to intimidate anyone, considering we've blowing the middle east to pieces with unmanned fighters since like 2002. It seems like a waste of money.
