Well, you're safe for now.

It's possible he said that in jest.

Which would make him a jester.

If that word was still relevant in the modern era anyway.

Why do you all make me say stuff like that? Stop it.

Jester is a perfectly relevant word.

Why not? Obviously they shouldn't be able to go out on dates unaccompanied and stuff... But two 3.y.os being "boyfriend" and "girlfriend" is harmless. It's not like it'll turn into anythign serious.

I was joking a bit when I said that. From what I understand, a 3 year old is highly unlikely to have romantic inclinations whatsoever; obviously, a "date" between 3 year olds will reflect that.

I doubt that was the definition of "date" the topic starter had in mind though. Regardless, attempting to argue over the definition of "date" wouldn't take us very far.

In short, I can agree with that.

Oy and everyone's been telling me that kids never grow up these days due to our society. Hopefully this stuff will cancel out.

You were requested in the Haruhi thread, sir.

mental maturity and physical maturity doesnt always go hand in hand.

Maybe it is the milk and soda that they drink!

yup... sometimes i do a double takes and wonder why the girls didnt look like that when i was middle school i would have started dating a lot sooner.

The clothiers the young people today wear is pretty bad but I know it is the style of today but it would not kill the people who design the outfits to be alittle better with what they come up with.and they wonder why teens sleep around and have babies at a young age.

Actually people are typically having children later now than ever before. If you had really lived back in the "good old days" women would be having kids as soon as they were of legal age.

So much ignorance.

People under sixteen shouldn't date? Lol.

I don't really consider sixteen and younger girls to be mature enough to date.

And your basis for this would be...?

I lost my virginity when i was 15.

I guess 14-15 is an appropriate age.

If it is my daughter, then it's NEVER...lol.

How enlightened.

well biologically the natural age would be when girls hit puberty as is how nature had intended but, modern society says no due to religion and their own personal beliefs..

Maybe but most are married at the time and no unmarried couples are living with each other like they are now in this year.

No unmarried couples lived with each other? You are living in a fantasy world. That is simply untrue by any stretch of the imagination.

Also, in your perspective, girls dating by 16 is no good because they "aren't mature enough", but apparently you think that at 16 they are mature enough to get married, which is so bizarre I can hardly believe it.

All you do is insist that things "used to be better" and offer no substantiation for your claims in any way, nor have you even told me WHY you don't think 16 year olds are mature enough, when you have heard numerous accounts of people having relationships successfully at that time or even younger. And I have the feeling that's because you know that you don't really have a "reason", you just have this gut feeling that since not everyone is as conservative as you, people must be getting less moral.

By all concrete measures, this is the best it's ever been. The "good old days" is a fantasy world.
