STAR WARS: RETROSPECTION- The Council of Taneshla

"Don't worry about me," Tanic says.

Rianna shrugs; she's not going to push the point.

"If you insist..."

Does Rianna want to do anything else? Tanic is telling you this at the banquet; this is one of your last opportunities to engage people in conversation.

Kind of want to talk to Geful, but I'm not exactly sure what to ask him, just that he might be someone important to talk to...however, she'll go and seek him out anyway.

"I hope you're not too annoyed that I spoke out, but an advisor that can actually participate is more useful than one that can't, I decided," she says to him.

"I appreciate that you did so," Geful says. "Keeping Tanic credible and useful to me when you could not be. Good work. Did you hear about the Staff?"

"Yes, Tanic told me that they were trying to negotiate for it. He also believes that they will make a move to steal it tonight."

"Do you believe the same?" Geful asks.

"I...don't know. I definitely think they are going to make a move, but right now...I'm not sure. I wish I did know..."

Does Rianna sense anything off, btw?

Not really.

"Should I increase the number of guards on duty?"

"It might be a good idea...though as good as your guards may be, I'm not sure they'd be able to stop Rand for long. You've seen a bit of his power. Trust me when I say that he is in fact far worse than what you've seen."

"I'll keep that in mind..." Geful says. "I will have his and Gallador's quarters watched."

"That would be helpful, yes," Rianna replies. "I've asked Tanic to let me know immediately if Rand or Gallador try anything, would you ask the same of your guards? If they do make a move, I want to stop them..."

"Certainly," Geful says. "I will inform them. I will remind you that the Mecrossans value their personalities greatly. You cannot kill anyone important or it will break relations between my Empire and the Mecrossans. Is that understood?"

"I won't kill them. I'm uneasy about doing that as it is. I am still a Jedi, even if I'm no longer with the Order, after all," Rianna says. "But I also can't stand idly by if they do try something..."

"At least I can trust someone around here," Geful says. "I admire that you still hold to your Jedi ideals."

Tha comment strikes you as odd.

"I try to...but what do you mean by that?"

"Oh, well, isn't that obvious?" Geful says. "It's not like Tanic still upholds the ideals of a Knight."

"He hasn't told me much of his past, and I haven't pried," Rianna says. "And if I did still stick the ideals I was raised with, I wouldn't be here, helping with criminal organizations. This is very awkward for me, but...when you're on your own, you don't have much choice but to let some things slip. I've only been away for a few months."

"Ah..." Geful is now reluctant to talk about Tanic as you reveal that Tanic hasn't shared anything with you. "Well, that's how the Galaxy is. One must adapt to changes around them. I wanted to be a Senator, at one point... and I could be now, if I wanted to be. But times have changed."

"And sometimes those changes are forced on you..." Rianna says quietly. She'd prefer to leave this subject behind, though. "How much longer do you expect these talks to last?"
