King Kandy's Super Tourney!

I'm gone tuesday and Wednesday... so the final draft will start on thursday, I suppose. After that's done, we'll see about first round.

Will that draft be today? Just wondering since I wont be here all weekend (backpacking trip). If you guys decide to do it while I'm gone, go for it. I wont mind. Ill just draft last or something.

I assume he means as a prep site. Just like an Authority member might come with their ship. Unless there was some extremely rationale explanation, I'm going to go with the fact that the entire ship won't be an issue.

I'm fairly sure I could get both of my character onto the ship, one would have his way with Nero so badly, and from a far range.

Thats what I would do too. If you think you can beat him/them, there is no use stressing about it, wouldn't you agree?

the movie is irrelevant, and there are certainly plausible ways to use red matter. For instance, one doesn't need an entire planet destroying quantity, which then opens up retarded arguments of "no, X amount of red matter would be banned, but X-1 amounts are ok, that was only X-1, etc..."

Thats all hypothetical like you said. I'd still be under the assumption that whoever used that tactic would be stupid. (no offense to whoever got him). And if they did? I'd just turn it on them by being near them and then making sure they go in first.

Either way, my vote goes to letting him stay. Its a decent prep site I'm sure, but I'm too worried. I've got faith my characters could take him and I'm sure you've got the same.

I do, however, think its durability and firepower are a bit over the limit as a combatant, even though I might have the paper to cover its rock

Nobody would argue Deadpool as a low herald (unless I really don't understand this), but his regeneration specifically would disqualify him from the tournament.

Magneto's shield has been defeated at least twice that I can think of, but is usually regarded as immune to physical attacks (meaning, you can't punch a hole in it). Which makes sense, given its nature.

That being said, I don't remember "must be able to be defeated via blunt force" as a rule in the draft stage- Deadpool, Swamp Thing and Juggernaut are all immune to (or unable to retain lasting damage from) a lot more than just blunt force, which I would think would be the distinction here.

Kandy and I talked about how elemental characters would be OK in theory, but if they were incapable of being permanently put down through feasible means given your average tourney match, they would be vetoed.

Ie, Sandman is probably OK, but Iceman, who can occupy any moisture anywhere, to the point where methods such as physical force, energy attacks and even telepathy would be largely ineffective, would not be.

for the record, I have no complaints about Magneto's shields

Yes, that would certainly help. However, that didn't happen, so we need to figure out something else.

Full-scale round robin? Everyone has 6 matches, with 1-2 weeks as bye? Long but equal.

I guess, but that would take so long.

Maybe i'll make it four rounds, and then pair the 4 remainders against each other in a mini round.
