Of course DD nearly killed DS. After DS had spent all of his energy nearly Killing or Killing DD. Remember later on in the story, DS said he was back at full power, when he completely defeated Cyborg, which up to that point, seemed impossible. DS wasn't at full power when DD attacked him. What exactly was relevant with the Maker ? I pwned her with ease. Same with Champion... he was making him look like a fool and did so with ease... Tyrant.. well.. I will give you that one. He did leave for fear of dying.
Now onto our discussion... Thanos.. based on most any combat sport scoring system.. be it boxing.. mma or whatever won that fight. You see knockdowns count for more than simple punches landed. Thanos floored Thor more times than he got floored. In fact, he hit Thor so hard he went through a metal floor.. He didn't get the gun because he was losing.. he got the gun because, as he stated, he knew he couldn't put Thor down for the count. The PG made thor pretty much invulnerable. Make no mistake though, that was why, not because he was losing or getting knocked around.
