Some Green Lantern footage. Apparently Hal Jordan has the personality of Wally West...
I guess DC really wanted an answer to Iron Man, they turned Hal into Tony Stark.

There's always been some parallels between Iron Man & Green Lantern; that why Marvel/DC once did them in the amalgam comic 'Iron Lantern.'
Anyone having further thoughts on the poll, after seeing the first Green Lantern trailer?
Well, rookie Hal was something of a smart ass and hotheaded, so I'm not sure why people are upset that Reynolds plays to that aspect. The Hal in comics now, pretty serious, far less joking, is a Hal that's pretty much matured a great deal than the Hal circa his origin. Dying and becoming reborn as the Spirit of Vengeance and being reborn once again as a mortal human will change you, I think.
GL was always going to be my top pick, but after seeing the Captain America trailer, I'm more optimistic about it. I mean, I always had faith in Evans, it was the rest of them I was worried about...
Probably going to like First Class the least, as I always thought.

Yup. I'm really liking how he's playing him, from the trailer. That, and he won't be playing Wally. I ended up wanting to e-strangle people when they said Reynolds should play Wally. Though if Johns has anything to say about it, i bet they'll make a Barry movie.
Me, too. I think Ryan, from the footage we're seeing, is mostly serious once he becomes inducted in the Corps. But he's going to joke around and quip occasionally; it's what Reynolds does as an actor and it's Hal's done in the actual comics and when handled by various writers. And yeah, considering Johns is like one of the driving forces behind DC in media outside of comics, if not the driving force, we're going to see Barry Allen over Wally.
I think Thor is probably going to be the most solid of the films. Perhaps not the best or rake in the most money, but a strong project that will get the fanbase into it as well as casual movie-goers.
Captain America, like others have said, has the potential to either be the best film or the worse. The Cap trailer really sold me, but Cap needs a lot of allegory/message that can really strike to people just who and what he is outside of the obvious patroitic theme. He needs to be basically Superman and Batman rolled into one, in a way.
Green Lantern I believe has the most riding on it. If the other films don't do well, Marvel will take it on the chin and go forth with the Avengers projects anyway. If they do extremely well, it only further reinforces what they're doing with their movies (save Fox). If Green Lantern soars, it's going to open the door for a lot of DC properties and hopefully lead credence to expand on the Corps and a whole host of ideas. If it bomb, WB will pretty much fall back to the drawing board of Superman/Batman which is pretty much the opposite of what DC should be doing, imo. Supes and Bats should be big properties, but they need to push their other properties to the forefront as well. Good or bad, Green Lantern will have more of an effect than the other films.
X-Men: First Class...I think it will be a decent enough film if you can get over the fact that they, like most X-Films, completely cannibalize canon sources to do as they see fit. I like Magneto, and like McKellan before him, I think Fassbender in the role will steal the show.
The new X-Men film also has Matthew Vaughn's rep riding on it. He backed out of X-Men 3 at the 11th hour, and made some verbal criticisms of the film made by Brett Ratner, saying he would have done it better (backing out of Thor also made him look skittish of big budget films.) Well, now it's time to put up or shut up, buddy.
The summer box office of 2009 was interesting because of how it split. Harry Potter And The Half-Blood Prince was the biggest worldwide hit, but Ice Age 3 grossed the most money of anyone overseas, while Transformers 2 was the biggest hit in North America. With the final Harry Potter getting released this summer as well, could we see something like that repeated? Maybe Captain America grosses the most in North America, while Thor is the biggest hit overseas (I bet Europe will be huge for it.)

in order im most anticipating
Green Lantern(im very hopeful for...when this movie come around im gonna go to the premiere pimped out in my Red Dexx Starr gear, red ring ect....lol)
Captain America(im hopeful for also....im hopeing for a lot of bad ass cap beat down moments)
Thor(i feel that this movie wont be bad but in the trailer i felt som of the lines were kinda cheesy....example "your big but thors bigger"😉
X-Men (the X-Men and every title tied to it should just be re booted...last stand and wolverine movies slaughtered it......and what James McAvoy is going to grow into Patrick Stewart?.....not to mention all of the little things like havok was before the x-men and emma frost was only put in because she was a liked character in wolverine and the x-men..........the ONLY reason i want to see this is because of magnetos costume.)
The two biggest ones I'm looking forward to are Thor and Green Lantern.
For Thor this is his chance to get big time media exposure, and for GL this a chance to get him the same thing along with all the other stuff DC could do based of a good performance by GL.
That and I love the mythos and story behind each one. I want to see Thow slinging lightning at doing big feats once again along with GL. I want to Asgard and OA in all their glory on the big screen.
Captain America is next in line and keep climbing. When I first heard about it I was meh and didn't really care, but as it gets closer I find myself getting more and more enthused about it.
X-Men First Class isn't even on my radar. I have absolutely no desire to see this movie.
As for box office success. Thor as an advantage going first. It's a good chance to get him going early. GL will probably be the biggest box-office draw for the summer crowd. CA is well an icon. I think he'll do well even over seas.

The mock up posters.
I'd say thats more accurate about Thor than GL. The posters are utterly ridiculous, its like an amateur did it in MS Paint (times new roman lol). The armor also looks super plasticky (new word), and the poses were lame.
In terms of being a hit, I think:
1. Captain America
2. Green Lantern
3. X-men
4. Thor
What I'm looking forward to:
1. Green Lantern
2. X-men
3. Thor
4. Captain America
Oz is getting Thor early, so I love it regardless of it's actual quality.
Captain America is looking pretty awesome at the moment, but I'm of the opinion it will bomb.
X-men:First Class is the movie I WANT to do well, but I doubt it.
Don't really give a shit about Green Lantern, apart from raging slightly that Nathan Fillion isn't Hal. I still hope it turns out good for the sake of all DC movies.
Wasn't looking forward to X-Men: First Class at all. But damn, they look to be good competition for the other three.

It looks like my feeling on Thor was right; it's doing even bigger business overseas. And while it looks like some critically reviled films are going to make even more money (Pirates 4, Hangover II) I'm happy Thor has proven to be a solid movie property, somewhere just behind Iron Man in appeal but much farther ahead of Hulk & Fantastic Four.
Now it's X-Men: First Class turn this week, and they seemed to have delivered artistically based on the advance reviews.
Green Lantern, they have to quell the bad feelings rising around this, with the reports of throwing $9 million more in to 'fix' the CGI.
