Ultron's machine superiority thread
Welcome to Ultron's machine superiority thread!
I know, I know, it's a mouthful, but Ultron doesn't care about your respect; fear Ultron's power, cower at Ultron's intelligence, get annoyed by Ultron's expressionless face but whatever we fleshb- I mean, organic beings think, doesn't concern Ultron. But its abscence from the respect forum couldn't be tolerated so... Here we are.
And here it is: Ultron
Ultron appeared for the first time at Avengers v1 54 and was created by writer Roy Thomas and artist John Buscema.. Since then it established itself as one of the deadlier and more resilent Avengers foes (and by resilent I mean it's harder to find a way to permanently kill it than to keep it surviving issue after issue).
So, what's the deal with Ultron? It's a robotic genius level intelligence which keeps upgrading itself with deadly weapons, spawns bodies all around the planet and it's obsessed with the obliteration of organic life and mechanic perfection. It's also as creepy as hell, but that will become evident as we go along in this threat.
Ultron tends to wear bodies carrying enough firepower to deal with the Avengers in a regular basis; we're talking about a guy who has done a career of trashing Iron Man and Thor. In order to do so, Ultron often wears bodies made of Adamantium -which it started using before it was cool- becoming pretty much imprevious to physical damage. So there is a long history of plot devices that have been used to dispose of Ultron because it's too hard to kill it otherwise. Yet, no matter if it's soul energy, mutant hexes or Galactus, Ultron will comeback and continue its killing sprees.
So now it must be more or less clear the issue we will have when talking about Ultron, its power varies heavily depending on the body it wears; adamantium makes it night indestructible, but different bodies have different weak-points and defenses. It doesn't get any simplier when you factor Ultron having different minds, it's more or less clear that some versions of Ultron have been permanently destroyed but other independant Ultrons still exist somewhere -because the bastard comes back!. Nevertheless Ultron's mind is more or less linear, and somehow when a new Ultron its built, it shares most of the experience with its past incarnations.
And as if Ultron just wanted to annoy me, some bodies are made weaker than their past incarnations, sometimes not being made of adamantium at all. So well, Ultron's mind develops more or less like a human's -Ultron becomes more experienced as time passes- and its body performs differently depending on many outside factors -from the opposition it faces, the technology it has developped and the material it's made of-.
So Ultron's power is pretty damn plot dependant; for Vsforum proposes I highly recommend to use particular incarnations of the character or extrapolate it's experience and tech savvyness to a particular body -most of them appear in a single arc. I'll try to explain Ultron's main upgrades through history in the part named "Ultron Manual", and I'll try to justify which bodies are best fit to be used in a Vs thread.
