Sure there is. Logically, Supes' vastly superior combat speed, reflexes, strength, and everything else he brings to the table is more than enough to make up for the fact that nimrod can make a weapon that can hurt superman. Nimrod could start out with a kryptonite cannon, and still not be able to actually hit superman with it, before superman heat visions him into oblivion. Or freezes him and then shatters him. Or pummels him into a cloud of dust. Or rip him into pieces and scatter the pieces across the galaxy. All of which are viable tactics for supes to get a win. All he needs is a ko to get a win. That is with him starting with a weapon. He has to actually scan supes, then still create the weapon, which does not bode well for nimrod, as supes could pull of any of those tactics before nimrod could finish scanning him.

Given Nimrods powerset and what he has accomplished using it (in particular his weakness exploitation ability), he logically would be able to duplicate the radiation spectrum needed to harm/kill superman...
He scanned Wolverine and found the precise spectrum of energy needed to kill him and negate his healing factor and was able to find the precise energy spectrum needed to melt the russian kid down...
So why in the heck couldnt he do this exact same thing to Supes!? Oh right...he cant do it because he just cant...LOL.
