And now to the tangential discussion – the fact that Shiva was looking to stop doesn't mean that she wasn't giving it her best, quite the contrary - she was looking for a better warrior to best her and for her to finally find her peace. This is flat-out stated by Batgirl herself:
Shiva also directly admits that the first fight at the hands of Batgirl humbled her and encouraged her to become better (further confirmation that the fight showed Batgirl to be superior) in the final arc:
And one of the most important parts – just before their final fight, Shiva clearly states that she is going for the kill, eventough for a page earlier she had admitted that she was looking for Batgirl to end her – which is the reason he had her."The one who is all".

Just in case you didn't catch that, Shiva acknowledges that she has a death wish. She acknowledges that the first fight against Batgirl humbled her and motivated her to become better. And she is also going for the kill in their final fight - a fact she says right before she states that Batgirl was made to end her, who the whole league of assasins trained to become the "one above all" and who everybody knew was the one who defeated Shiva.

Didn't bane defeat hourman and kill Judomaster when he was on venom? Just curious, because all I've read regarding him is from the Secret Six. Based on his portrayel, i'd place Canary above him.

No. Bane didn't even have his tubing when he did those feats. However, from years of taking venom he has a higher degree of resistance to injury and superhuman strength.
