The way I see it this team is going to do pretty good all around as mystics, tanks, specialists, and techs are filled.
a Richards supplying Forge with an ideas list along with batman pragmatism and bankroll is definitely going to be something to worry about for anyone with just the three of them. I'm keeping batman on reserve as the batkick would just make this team utterly unstoppable.
My only concern is that this team might be over the top.
*** Valeria is dependent on being able to be used as a future version as she was already stated somewhere to be smarter than her father which is some scary stuff when you think about it.

Thor is kinda the same thing, tho. He tends to "solo" threats more than coordinate with his other teammates. Doesn't mean that he's not useful in a team, tho.

yeah forge is a champ on support. im surprised hes never been on someones payroll. though he needs another techie for ideas as his imagination is a bit crappy hes also a low level mystic as his early mystic experience was never retconned to my knowledge. wonder if he left an ultimate nullifier lying around

Naah, Surfer is more of a universal hero while thor is more of a earth based hero. I can't see surfer following rules whereas I could see cap telling thor to go bash someones head in and thor flying out there doing it.

Well, if we put the Surfer's wanderlust into the mix, yeah, I would agree that he would be harder to keep grounded in just the planet Earth than Thor is. However, perhaps if we were to EXPAND the nature of how the Avengers work, Surfer being far more mobile and able to see/intercept threats at a much quicker rate than any other hero would allow this new Avengers to expand their span of influence to galactic proportions than just the planet Earth. 😛
Edit. Tho I DID take out the Surfer on my newer team (X-Man would be a wicked in a new Avengers Team, IMO).

I just think that people like supes, or thor would be a better choice because even though surfer is powerful, on some beings it takes more than versitality to drop them, sometimes it take brute force and surfer just isn't the person that could cover that dept. That's why people like thanos handles him so easily... with all that power that he has, it meant nothing in a battle against him whereas someone like thor, even though thor isn't dropping thanos, he would pose as much of a bigger threat against the purple guy instead of surfer... especisally if thor has a team backing him up.
I would chose thor over all of them. He is just as versatile as surfer and he is just as strong, if not stronger than supes. He is the entire package in one.
