This game is excellent. I'm so impressed. It's such a drastic step up from Oblivion, which itself is a game I enjoyed quite a bit.All the problems of Oblivion have been fixed. The dragon fights are amazing and truly epic. The world feels alive and real and much denser, and the cities are much busier. The dungeons all feel more unique and creative. The combat is awesome and the leveling system is stupidly addicting.
I agree.
They learned quite a bit from designing Fallout 3. I still like the setting in Fallout 3 better but that's personal opinion but this game is lights year ahead of Oblivion.
The city of Riverwood has 10x the amount of character then any city in Oblivion. The first cave I went to was a complete experience. It didn't feel like it was created by an automatic program but lovingly created by a designer. Going up to the mountain cave (just outside of Riverwood), I actually felt being cold in a blizzard your walking through. Having rivers that actually flow with salmon jumping upriver, or insects buzzing around creates such a rich atmosphere that any sort of gameplay problem is ignored.
The only thing that bugs me is that I don't get a character screen where I can see the armour I'm wearing. It's such a minor issue for me that's it's a non-issue.
