Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim

WoW is for pansies.

What exactly is the point of alchemy? If you're taking non-combat skills, you might as well take smithing/enchanting, alchemy seems wasteful unless you're abusing the potion-->armour--> potion routine. You find so many potions and poisons lying around anyway you never even think about buying them.

I have only done one alchemy session the entire game. 😄 Jumped from 16 or 17 to 49. I also have too much money and nothing to spend it on. What do I need money for once I have the best armor set and it is at legendary? Best weapon? Ha!

I guess I could craft a better armor set by amping my alchemy and enchanting up. That's pretty much the only thing left. I have gotten most of the perks that I want.

Here is an awesome potion maker scripter thingie:

http://rp.eliteskills.com/skyrim.html

Takes all the guess-work and wasted time out of making potions.

That link is great. I have pretty much every recipe already, but that'll be awesome for the few I don't have.

Come now, Skyrim is woefully casual and pansy-ass next to WoW.

It's essentially free money. You're going to find tons and tons of ingredients for potion-making while out exploring, and you get much more for them by crafting them into potions and selling those instead of just selling the ingredients themselves.

That, and I find figuring out the combos to be fun.

I dislike Alchemy. Still think I'm 40-50ish at about level 30-35 right now. I level it to get levels faster, not because I use it for much.

cosigned. Say what you will about its variable quality, the highest levels of WoW are a goddamned sport, combining FPS twitch skills with college level math calculations.

Haven't touched WoW in a while though, and I'm loving Skyrim, but that's neither here nor there. They're apples and oranges.

Apparently, it has been capped or fixed. You can't improve beyond 28-32%, depending on the reports from the people about the latest patch.

But a 28-32% increase in power for your smithing is phenomenal ...especially at higher levels.

I don't know. Witnessing two beheadings and the shear amount of violence you can do is a bit far from being "pansy".

One of my favorite things is to sneak up behind someone and slash them with a dagger...then it goes into the cutscene where you slit their throat. It's. So. Awesome.

I feel like a real ninja. 😆 I sing the Pink Panther Music in my head. uhuh

I liked alchemy in oblivion, I used it all the time just for some extra effects on my weapons or making a crap ton of mana potions, which i needed because I was constantly casting spells as a non magick class... derp

You should have taken the Thief Stone Blessing, and the Well-Rested Bonus (assuming you didn't). The rate of increase to your Alchemy skill would have been 130% as opposed to 100%. Now that I'm at 80 in Alchemy, whenever I wish to do an Alchemy run, I always take the Thief Stone and Well-Rested bonus, in addition to 4 pieces of enchanted gear.

Also, buy houses. 😛 Though there is a way to buy houses for free, that's just being cheap.

Well, since alchemy is boosted quite quickly without bonuses, I don't see a need to do it faster. I probably need to start working on my summons and restoration crap so I can gain levels.

I wish Skyrim leveling worked on a system of general XP. And the perks were their own system, altogether. That way, whenever you killed an enemy, you got XP for it and it applied to your level. But using abilities increased the 22? areas you can also level in. I don't like it that your level is tied directly to the specific abilities.

For instance, using a bow to kill your enemies would give you general XP that applied to your main level but it would also level your archery skill level making you more effective with it (and allow you to invest perks into that category).

Yeah but WoW sucks, objectively, and you're a horrible person for liking it.

Well then, have you ever leveled up both Alchemy and Enchanting to the max level in WoW as your primary professions? Doing that makes one a tremendous person and I have done it, ergo me > you.

No I'm afraid your conclusion is based on a false premise.

Namely that you can be anything other than the worst scum of the universe when you have played WoW.

Have YOU played WoW?

The WoW hatred always confused me. It's just another damn game. We're here sinking hundreds of hours into game after game, laughing about arrows to the knee and finding ways to kill Lydia, but no, this one particular subset is the ****ing scum of the earth.

So you lost a significant other to it, it wasn't going to last anyway. So you spent too much of your life on it, add it to the list along with KMC. So you dislike the game as a whole and don't think it deserves its acclaim, get in line behind all the successes in books, games, movies that turn out **** and get paid like Trump.

I mean, what the hell. I can't tell people I play WoW. Really, I can't, it's retarded. I can tell them I own 90 other games and talk to them about the varying merits of Zelda timeline theories, but if I mention WoW I'm a leper. Stupidest shit ever.

I've had more fun with WoW, made more friends, had more awesome experiences, than any 5 other games I've ever played. Deal with it.

It's a bit odd, I know. WoW seems to be one of the few remaining things that have this kind of stigma attached to it. People seem to think that WoW players are nerds who are what to nerds what nerds are to "normal" people.

nerd

****, I was just joking around, then Digi decided to get all "emotional" on me. estahuh

Hahahah, I just knew it would take a good old-fashioned ragequit style rant to curb the bashing.

And it looks like it worked.

😊

Except for Blax, he's still on the list.

crackers

It really is beyond stupid that I have to hide it though. It's like, all the above-and-beyond the call of geekdom, nerdy sh*t I do and that's what I take heat for.
