Since you can configure the layout, the clunkiness you are experiencing is your own fault.

You mean there's a way to avoid having to pause the game, open a list, scrolling down the list, clicking on what you want and then closing the list to use an item? Then pray tell good sir, how do you configure that?

Not only is it a chore to do, but the UI of Skyrim is very poor imo. I dislike the list format and navigating it is a pain, made worse by the floaty cursor. Eventually I just installed the SkyUI mod and soldiered on through.

lol, you think those are "controls"?

Not sure whether it's been said, but Skyrim's the best.

It's what Morridini was originally talking about: 'a really tiresome way of changing between spells, which is what is putting me off.' You said it was better on PC, to which I said it was still clunky, to which you said I could configure. Do you need me to post the entire exchange or can you keep up by yourself. 😉

Nope, you're wrong again. You quoted from the second paragraph which does not mention "controls". The first paragraph is the portion I obviously responded to...you know...because it said "controls" in that paragraph?

And even if that's what he meant, those are not controls, that's the UI. Something you already knew. So even if you try to backpeddle (which is painfully wrong), you're still wrong.

Is there a way to make the Stahlrim armor set, or are you at the mercy of luck?

^ Don't quote me on this, but I think that you can but you need to do a quest first.

Per my usual with TES, I'm just now getting around to really digging into this game. I had logged maybe 60 hours since I purchased it. I'm nearing 100 after this past week, and will likely log another 50 in the next few weeks.

The upside is all the mods that are available. I've pimped the game out something fierce. A very minimal amount changes the actual gameplay...graphics, scenery, sounds, UI tweaks, new houses, etc. make up most of them. One of my favorites allows me to fight, loot, and gather things while mounted (including archery). I also have myself various hunter perches and cabins throughout the landscape, since I'm into that aspect of the roleplaying. It's awesome stuff. I'm not a PC elitist by any means, but in this lone case I have no idea how console gamers play TES. The mod community is incredible.

Also just learned the cheat to reset talent perks. I kinda want to do it because I was a dumbass with some talents for a while...I have multiple talents in things I literally never use. But it would just be shuffling some points around. Nothing to artificially jack up my abilities. I dislike the idea of overt cheating.

Yeah, I recently bought Skyrim for the PC and the mods have really gotten me back into it.

The ENB mods are really incredible. They make the game look like a legit next gen title and can really change the entire mood of the game through the visuals.

👆

I'm running most of the ENB stuff too.

ENB?

It's a graphical mod for Skyrim, and several other games, that improve the shaders and add several new effects that the core game doesn't have. Individual users can tweak the settings to the point where the game looks almost completely different.

Cool! That's a bit absurd imo...that guy is running hundreds of mods. But it does show the potential power of the game's graphics. And there's a few good "all in one" style mods that can get you really close to that level of graphical detail, but with a fraction of the mods.

Agreed, some of the ENB with a bit of tweaking etc. can get you very near that level of detail, without having to ensure compability between 100+ mods. Nightmare level in modding unlocked 😛

This shit made me laugh.

Bumpish.

All right, so basically I've started a new game, did all my mods, and i'm looking for cool shit you can do right at the start of the game.

So far:

I'm level 7.
Did the guardian stones.
kill the bandits near the guardian stones.
did the first mine near the guardian stones.
did bleak falls barrow.
found the treasure across the river from riverwood.
just arrived in whiterun.

any suggestions?

I did a free runner build where I only kill when absolutely essential and just kite everyone I anger towards the guards.

You could also try alteration based armor if you want more of a challenge.
Also you can try being a gold whore like I did once you complete the Thieves guild, Alteration lets you turn worthless Iron into equally Worthless GOLD

That's how I RP

Illusion + (-stealth) + Alchemy + Alteration and just wear pimp clothing like the King of Tamriels robe

You could murder every young Breton woman you come across and leave a sweetroll as your calling card.

Also, as far as Dawnguard goes, any disadvantages to becoming a vampire that you guys have seen?
