about pulling stuff in space, the answer im sure, is much more complicated than either sides are making it. in space there is no friction and theres a sense of weightlessness, yet you cant pull a spaceship towards you.

In fact, that whole story was about Superman being the ultimate hero and doing impossible things, such as, at the end of the story, being capable of containing the bleed when nobody except the Monitors, who are writer analogues, should be able to.
