I never heard that before but then again I never put God's name in vain and when I was younger I would get soap in my mouth for saying any kind of swear.
Yet this person actually typed out a list of words that were not swear words that he suggested we shouldn't say. lol I was left feeling, "Wow, are you strict with your life." lol

Actually thats how blasphemy is seen too...
Only the religious take issue with it.The name God is a name we gave to a long-time-ago-theoretical being.
This god- should it exist - is probably a big boy who can take a few words being said about it without tears and tantrums.
It's basic respect to the Lord of the Universe. Should be a no-brainer unless the blasphemer is the type of person who curses his/her parents out to their face.

Most of them I consider swears but if they are said differenly I am not sure.LOL
Honestly the only reason swearing is wrong is the feeling you cause in others, and yourself when you use profane language. Or expression of hatred and such. Obviously a lot of this is dependent on what you are thinking when you swear, so it really has little to do with the actual words, BUT I have noticed that when I swear less I don't feel as angry about things. I think knowing that what you are saying is not accepted, then you feel...rebellious? and you might subconsciously hate yourself for it, which makes you feel bad, or whatever.

I've known very conservatives that won't say certian words stating that it is a cheating way with the same intentions of the real words. Some examples would be:Darn = damn
Heck = Hell
Shoot = Shit
Gosh Darn = God Damn
Cheese and Rice = Jesus Christ
Chuck You = Fu@k YouThese people aren't any fun at parties. lol
Geez, Gee whiz, and Jesus H. Christ are all other ways of saying "Jesus" as a curseword.

I think the only problem that swearing really brings is how it makes you look, in the sense that, from a Christian standpoint, you are suppose to be an example to others.If you claim to be a Christian, yet walk around spewing profanity every chance you get, you aren't making Christians look very good.
Like if a preacher came up to me and invited me to his "F#cking awesome church, cuz all the rest are sh#t." Parents are probably going to keep their kids away from that place. I know I wouldn't go.
(Well, I might just to see what a sermon was like. 😉 )
Very true and that is how I was bought up.Acourse if I swore as a kid I would get soap in my mouth and that stopped me real quick from saying any more curse words after that.

People decide what words are bad.If I raised by child and told him to use the work F*ck for please and please for F*ck then he would think please is a bad word and would be asking if he could f*ck have some cookies.
If you don't dictate it is wrong it is not wrong.
And AFAIK there is nothing in the bible about not being able to say certain words whether it be swearing or cursing.
Well the Bible does instruct believers to refrain from allowing any CORRUPT word to proceed out of our mouths.
Ephesians 4:29
Let no corrupt word proceed out of your mouth, but what is good for necessary edification, that it may impart grace to the hearers.

And unfortunately "corrupt" is itself has a pretty vague meaning. It's usually used to described tanglible things or organizations...not words.
