When is the Extended Cut to be released? It will be interesting to see if it improves the movie, I was very much hoping for it to be a good movie, or at least okay, not what we got at all. Hopefully they pull a Kingdom of Heaven (although I heard it is only 20 min longer, is that long enough to save the movie?).

Full list of the blu-ray features. There is a difference between the 2D version and the 3D version, so read carefully (click image):

Damn. I'm totally getting the 3D version. And a little video advertisement (must be a British version or something?)...

Holy hell, this rocks... shock

And this deleted scene needs to be in the sequel. Perhaps that's why they cut it...

^ That direct scene wouldn't make sense in the sequel because the Engineer didn't speak (he did in another deleted scene). But the message of them coming from paradise could be in the sequel.

I totally thought this would be worth sharing: great video <---- (click) on the inspiration behind the trilobite "facehugger" creature at the end of the film.

Photo from more deleted footage. The Engineers are intellectual, apparently.

And a pretty good little video with Ridley scaring the crew: CLICK.

Blu-ray comes out in less than a week, folks!

An easter egg that ties the movie to Blade Runner

Read Wikipedia, you goober.

I got my Engineer figures in the mail yesterday. They're pretty cool. Not thrilled with the paint job, but they're cool. And I'm psyched about getting the blu-ray on Tuesday.

😄

I read it, I didnt like it.

Screenwriter Jon Spaihts On The Prometheus That Never Was

Very nice find, sir. Very interesting and quite controversial.

Well it's going to take me a while to watch everything on the special features disc, but the movie looks fantastic on the hi-def blu-ray.. superb! I listened to Ridley's commentary and it's okay, a few interesting ideas, but a lot of blather that is hard to even follow what he's talking about, heh. But cool of him to do it anyway. I started the making-of feature and it's pretty freakin' awesome so far. Look forward to continuing that.

My biggest gripe, though, is that the packaging art for the 3D blu-ray is the worst one (and it's the most expensive one). They use all the space on there (that should have cool images) for explanations on how to use the digital copy, special app, etc.. it's f#cking ugly and unnecessary. Shitty packaging, but epic content, it seems. It's been taking an extraordinarily long time to load on my player, too, which is frustratiing. But all in all i'm excited about exploring all the special features and watching the film again and again..

I should really watch this movie again, it must be interesting after that review..^

Well Golly-Jee-Willikers, yeah, perhaps you SHOULD finish the damn movie before you decide to express such firm opinions. 😉

^Golly gee willikers awkward...

I will doo sir. Now to gallop back into the night.

So does the blu-ray answer alot of the questions which the one at the cinema did'nt do??

Would the Fox marketing team lie??? The film on the DVD/blu-ray is the same one that was in the theater. There are some deleted scenes, though, and they do reveal some things, but much of the film's major themes are still left pretty ambiguous. There is one extra scene that I wish they had added: Milburn (the biologist) finds a worm looking thing and they all get excited because it is the first alien species that they've discovered. The scene shows him putting it into a little specimen jar. It would have helped explain why he approached the hammerpede so enthusiastically:

And there are a couple other little touches that I think should have been kept in the film, but other than that, I think cutting most of it was a good idea. The pacing is good and nothing really seems dragged out. The documentary is EXCELLENT. Tons of great concept drawings and it's a pretty indepth look at the making of the film. And I'm only through the first 2 segments of it, so I still have a bunch to go.

A fun watch...

I don't necessarily agree with everything they say, but they give a great defense and some interesting ideas.
