Champions Online Free To Play

I thought so too at first, but once you get into it, this is better, they took what was great from COH and used that/improved on that.

It does suffer from what many MMOs suffer from, repetition. Same shit, just at a higher level.

Be happy to walk you through some of the common newbie mistakes, this game can be a lot harder if you don't know what you're doing.

I'm on right now and will be at 9.

I'll be on in about 15-20, i'll find u. Have a large patch to D/L since I've not been on.

I want a good class with pets and or AOE attacks. Any suggestions?

Since the choices are made for you, I'm not exactly sure.

I could build you a murderous toon if you had a full account and were lvl 26 or so.

Ive heard that, "Gold Members" (the paying customers), Gadgeteering is the pet class and it has good AOE attack upgrades

Theres only brute, scrapper, wizard, soldier, ninja, fire, ice and mental.

Yeah this is one thing that is annoying. I cant custom and limited picks.

What if I buy one month and good stuff then go back to silver. would that work?

I am also stuck to only two character slots.

With Gold you can pick any powers you like, it's common to see "pet hoarders" who have the magical, techno and elemental/nature pets all together. Looks lame, but 'pet hoarding' was popular about 2 months ago.

I have a mostly Gadget toon (looks like a Borg); it's a fun class. I tend to make my chars off one class and only pick out-of-class powers sparingly.

Is it possible to get pets without gold and these classes?

Munitons "soldier" is fairly fun, great for PVE, not so good for PVP. I wouldn't PVP gold members, you're seriously gimped compared to them in choice powers. You'll get perma-held and then 3rd tier power attacked to death over and over and over.

Brute gives you Defiance as your your passive defense, it's arguably the best tanking defense in the game.

I have an almost pure Ice guy, it's a fun class, but not recommended for a novice

Ninja I assume is either single-blade or duo-blades. Single blade is hard for a novice, dual-blades is lethal with a right build. I have a lvl 31-32 duo-blades, can crit a fool for 5.5K in damage.

I read up, looks like F2P can buy Gold-characters, which would allow you to custom any which way you wish.

Looks like pets isn't on the free menu. Personlly, I don't care for pets, they're useful adn fun at first, but them get boring. It's more of a novelty for me, if they fit my concept.

BTW, at 81%, should be done soon.

The gadget archetype will come to silver players next month for a one time payment of like 8 bucks i think.

For AoE I suggest grimoire (spelling?) archtype

Also once u hit a certain level you will get an additional character slot

and you can buy more in the typical micro transaction process

Rob or Jal, is it possible to get a fire/kin like in CoH?

silver memebrs can't mix powersets. Only cual classes are those that are fro m mixed archetypes

what does kin mean?

so far the only mixed archetype is the specialist who is muniations and double swords mixed

Kinetic, which was the best class in COH, I ruled there. No Kin in Champs though 🙁
