why?

This world for teaching special ed is far behind than normal kids off in normal schools like HS, College or University. This world much rather have a lawyers, CEO's etc... than some special kid. Why? because these lawyers and CEO's fuel our global economy much more. Back in the old days it was fine that some kid learns a skill from his dad or some old guy. Cant happen today and get a job. Everything is done on a normal level. If you below the normal level than you cant get into college to get skills. You are stuck working at some shitty retail store for the rest of your life.

You couldn't find anyone funny to make your point?

He did. I laughed out loud pretty hard at some of his comments. Hate all you want on Mencia, but he can be really damn funny, at times.

I'm sorry, I should have been more specific, I meant "You couldn't find anyone I find funny to make your point?"

Much better. 🙂

Edit - I think Mencia is really good at delivery. There are some comics out there that have waaaaaay funnier material, for sure, but Mencia excels at delivery, making stuff funnier than it actually is.

For example, there's this one tall fat comic that I saw on Comedy Central. He's damn hilarious. His delivery is really weak as he's a very calm and generally quiet dude. Obviously, I do not remember the dude's name. But, I'm quite sure you would love him because his humor is more about irony, smart people jokes, and naughty puns.

You could do something during the whole school breaks. Vocational Schools, summer learning anything besides sitting on your ass doing nothing again, personal responsibility.

why does the world focus so much of teaching smart kids ,and leaving "slower kids" to gain knowledge from other "slower" people???

we all have brains thus we all have the capacity to take in information right?
but we only give information to "bright" kids
schools for the gifted and whatnot WTF
why cant they just teach everyone

imagine a world where everybody is a qualified teacher
just imagine

If all the brilliant teachers taught dumb kids who wouldn't listen and wouldn't try to learn, then the teachers' efforts are wasted on blind eyes and deaf ears. Also, that just leaves bad teachers for all of the intelligent kids, which is an equally awful waste of potential.

Absolutely, my cousin is 13 and has lived in america her whole life. When I went to visit I found out that, not only was her school time filled with nothing but texting, tweeting, and facebooking, but she was in elementary math - and failing-, and was also failing english.

The school told her that a foreign language was an elective. An ELECTIVE? It was a requirement my entire schooling career. I'm fluent in 9 languages. I have been around the world, I have a 4 year university degree, and my math skill are perfect.

It's truly an embarrassment. She says that school is too hard. Maybe it wouldn't be if she'd turn of the damn mobile

Out of curiosity, what languages?

Lol right. I actually read something once, whether or not it is true, I do not know. But, I read that a boy saved a man's life because he had learned CPR on a video game.

To gtv- I'm fluent in
English
Spanish
French
Italian
Greek
Swahili
Japanese
German
Vietnamese

lol i like ballerina's stereotype spreading contradictions 🙂

Not sure if I believe that.

What in the world does that even mean?

Though to be fair, it probably doesn't matter since you are obviously Whirly.

He or she could mean that they make no mistakes at elementary math.

You and I definitely do not fit that bill, but some people make 1 mistake out of 100,000, making them virtually perfect at simple math.

Well, he/she is not posting offensively so I see no harm, yet.

Whirly?

By perfect, I mean, I did not suffer through math classes. My we point was Science. I absolutely had no interest in that.

Yeah, I suppose she could mean that she can do basic calculations very well. Or as she said, not have problems in School Mathematics.

Though calling that "perfect maths skills" is silly.

And yeah, he/she is not posting offensively, but if he/she was Whirly it would be silly to argue about his claims, no?
