Initiative to you guys!
Xavier and Galder move to free Dak from underneath the Shardik's paw. This leaves them exposed as they cannot defend themselves while they're doing this... but Rianna dancing in to slash at the bear's leg is enough of a distraction that they are in no danger. Rianna slashes it for 11 damage.
Together, Galder and Xavier produce a measly two successes. The Shardik in return rolls five. They strain as hard as they can, but no luck.
The Captain fires his bola and it wraps around the bear's maw! It cannot eat anyone until that thing comes off.
The Shardik chooses to swat away the pesky human stabbing it in the leg. Rianna takes 11 damage from its swipe and is sent tumbling into the grass. She is Knocked Back and cannot act next turn.
The Lieutenant hits for 9 damage.

"Not yet..." Rand says, checking the probe's readings.

Xavier and Galder try again... but physical strength isn't going to cut it, it seems. They fail again, and then it is Galder's turn to be swatted away for 10 damage.
Rianna is up! Rand is distracted.
The Captain loads another bola while the Lieutenant plugs away at the Shardik.

Xavier steps back and extends his hands... it is struggle, but the bear is not expecting an unseen force to push it so, and Dak is freed! He only has a moment to slither out before the paw crashes down again.
Rianna scores 9 successes for 15 damage, lashing at the leg that had previous held Dak. The Captain puts a second bola around the Shardik's mouth and the Lieutenant shoots it again.
The Shardik then strips both bola off with a slash of its paw, roaring as it does so.
"Look, what's going on?" Useld asks. "What are you..."
"DOWN!" Rand suddenly shouts.
Useld throws himself prone as Rand ignites his lightsaber.
He taps Focused Guard and uses Coordination, deflecting the incoming lasers with expertise. Except they aren't lasers- they're needles encased in energy. They vaporize in a flash when they make contact with his lightsaber.

Evens goes back to the Shardik!
With so many people in front of her, she goes for her ground-pounding strike, slamming her paws into the ground and knocking all of you off your feet for varying damage if you fail the Agility roll. Everyone fails except... Rianna!
But since she lost initiative, Rianna is not quite there when the new threat becomes clear. The Lieutenant is lining up a shot on the bear again when some of those encased needles strike him. He adjusts his harness so that he can draw bead on one of the firers- one of the natives! He blows it away cleanly.
Rand catches a few of the needles with his lightsaber- each exploding sharply upon contact with the blade- before extending a hand outward. He adds his Force Defense to his standard Defense with Lifting, deflecting the needles with his power.
