In the second scan, Zeus is not absorbing power. It's simply Zeus flexing his muscles, that's an analogy. In that very same scan, we see Zeus standing next to Hera, and he's not any larger.
You want to argue that Zeus grew bigger? Sure, why not, I don't give a shit as long as you don't argue something stupid such as Zeus was more powerful than ever before. Unfortunately however, arguing that he was drawing/absorbing power and got bigger in that second scan is incorrect.
Anyways, this is simply you trying to save face for the Hulk. The most probable answer is that the writer simply drew the issue in such a way. Zeus was no bigger in the second scan -compared to the first- when standing next to Hera, and looked monstrous in the third.
And for the record, I'm pretty sure when we saw Hera standing next to the Hulk, she seemed to be very tall. From what I remember -the Hulk was kneeling unfortunately- standing up, they'd be around the same length in height.

I like the character because he rarely if ever relies on his powers, he puts them to the side and just beat the hell out of you. Even pick up mountains and toss them on people. He is just a good character and a good sign of a true Skyfather. He has the attitude of teaching people lessons and he is still teaching Hulk a lesson even "after" the fight.
Not because he beat Greenscar... its how he is portrayed in the battles that I have seen him in.

facepalm That wasn't Zeus powering up. It was him putting on a light show, there's a reason why Hulk mocked him at that moment. And no, the Zeus he fought was no more powerful or superior to the one Zuras, Thor and the Avengers fought no matter how much you want him to be. Zeus being twelve feet tall isn't the evidence you want it to be. Under Pak, the Olympians are simply extremely large for some reason.
The almighty Green Scar was stomped by someone Thor can hold his own against. Get over it brah. The same thing happened when he faced the Destroyer.
What? All Zeus can do in combat as far as we've seen is blast and punch shit....which is what he always does in the battles we've seen.
Zeus is a thick headed prick. The best portrayal imo was in the Thor annual, where he came off somewhat wise.
