He’s the most talked about villain of the year, and this fall Marvel is bringing fans everything you need to know about Thanos in Thanos: The Final Threat #1 and Thanos Quest #1! From creator Jim Starlin, Thanos: The Final Threat #1 follows the Mad Eternal as he gathers the cosmic Infinity Gems in a bid for interplanetary power! Can even the combined might of the Avengers, Captain Marvel, Spider-Man, and others stand up to Thanos might? But that’s not all! Jim Starlin and Ron Lim continue the son of Titan’s quest for power in Thanos Quest #1! Except this time, he’s looking destroy half the population of the universe, and rule all he surveys! And with a cover featuring the concept art from Marvel’s The Avengers by Andy Park, no fan can miss out! Finally – don’t miss out as Thanos deals the Avengers a mighty blow in the pages of Avengers Assemble #7 by the chart topping creative team of Brian Michael Bendis and Mark Bagley! Thanos has his sights set on Earth, and it’s Mightiest Heroes so it will be up to the Avengers AND the Guardians of the Galaxy to band together and save the Marvel Universe! But will it be enough?
This is predictable. If Thanos is the second villain for the next avengers film, Marvel has to hype him up big time in order build anticipation for it.
^ I can see the above as a possible costume design for Thanos in the next Avengers film. The dark background looks very similar to the Thanos scene mid-Avengers credits. His gauntlets with the exposed hand look identical too.
Edit: Andy Park drew the cover, and he was the concept artist for the movie.
Avengers Assemble #4, spoilers:
Spoiler:
Decent enough issue - good action, plenty of splash pages, art again was decent. Overall the plot is pretty simple enough to follow.Main points in the book:
1. It's revealed that Thanos is seeking numerous artifacts of great power such as the Ultimate Nulifier and is essentially using the Zodiac as his puppets/lackeys to obtain these.
2. In a scene reminscent of Let The Battle Begin, Hulk one shots Thor with his own hammer before taking on the rest of the Avengers after being controlled by Thanos.
3.The Zodiac are powered-up again.
4. Iron Man in some sort of last-ditch attempt at stopping Thanos/Zodiac detonates the shield helicarrier.
5. Guardians of The Galaxy!!
My main gripe with the book is the characterization but seeing as though it's Bendis it doesn't surprise me. Excited to see what he does with GotG though
Originally posted by The SorrowNot really suprising. Avengers Assemble seems like a bottom of the barrel comic book made to just take advantage of the films success. I rolled my eyes as soon as I saw the lineup .

Seriously? Literally the only notable thing about Thor so far in this series is how easily he's taken out compared to his norm. First two pieced by that no-name Zodiac henchmen and now this? One more time and it's a running gag.
"Tune in next issue to find out who one shots Thor next, will it be Rocket Racoon or Drax the Destroyer?"
Seriously, why is Bendis of all people writing Thor with a glass jaw? He almost always gives him serious props. I wouldn't give a shit if this was non-canon but it's being shoe-horned into continuity to remain relevant.
