If God turned out to be an Alien(s) would you still worship him (it)?

God is not an Alien, he created the Universe in six days and on the seventh he rested.

God has ADHD.

Here´s a hypothetical situation along the "ancient spaceman" theme. If it came about that some aliens turned up and proved somehow that they genetically engineered us, and all the stories in the old religious books was of them being worshiped.

Ok there´s a whole array of possibilitys, whether the aliens are carbon based like us or of an energetic nature. Or if they are not from a different galaxy but a different dimention.

Not only that seeing as it is claimed that God made the universe and all that, and he wasn´t born on the earth as it were he actually is an alien.

But you know what I´m getting at, where do you draw the line?

What would you worship and not worship.?

nothing in life should be worshiped. just know that you are your best subject and object.

you should matter more to you than even your creator because ultimately, more than anyone else, you have your best interest at heart the closest. you care more about you more than anyone else will.

but do not get it confused with self worship. you should worship nothing. not even yourself. hold yourself in high esteem and confidence yes but never obsess over you. only bad things can come out of it always in any, and all, ends.

This sounds like a "look out for number one" line of thinking. Which I do not agree with.

You should think about yourself last and others first. Parents and family members know the feeling well of caring for someone even, at times, more than they care for themselves. You're wrong to say that you care more about you then any one else. Any parent would willingly give their life for their child, regardless of whether the child was responsible for the danger imposed on it.

And you SHOULD worship something. But only if that thing deserves worship. And at that point, it comes down to what you think deserves worship. To say that there is nothing out there that deserves worship is saying that you are of equal or greater value than everything else. That there is nothing out there better than you. Which is simply arrogant.

What?

Just because someone/thing is better than you don't mean you should worship it. For any given metric I can probably come up with someone who is better than me, I still don't worship anything. I could ever imagine a thing that is better than me by every measure, I wouldn't worship it though I would have great respect for it.

I'd blame all my problems on him.

I would only worship if it benefited me. I believe in doing the right things helping others etc but I just can't see why someone who is omnipotent would want to be worshiped or praised.

Depends on your meaning of "better". I don't mean better as in skill or anything like that. Like a better hockey player or anything. I mean better as in... eh, I don't really know how to fully explain. 😬

I mean more in terms of God being better than me or you. That kind of "better".

I agree with you. You can admire him/her/it, but that doesn't make it better than you at all. You can appreciate it, mimic it, if it's is good, and respect it.

If I was some super human or alien that was above others, why would I want them to worship me? It would bother me. 😬

Maybe it would bother you because you're thinking about it like a human, who aren't suppose to be worshiped. If you were a super human or alien that was above us or something that is worthy of worship, maybe you'd have a different mind set. 😖hifty:

How do you quantify this 'beterness'?

There isn't a formula I know of. But that doesn't mean you can't tell. A perfect being is obviously "better" than an imperfect one.

If said Alien(s):

a) possess(es) all of God's qualities (Omnipresence, omnipotence, omniscience) and it/they perform feats that prove said qualities

b) provide(s) sufficient and concrete evidence of its/their creation of life, matter, emotions, etc.

c) can answer all of man's problems and questions

then I see no reason why I should not worship them.

A "perfect" being is also illogical though.

To Server Man..lol

How so?

near perfect

I saw an "Ancient Aliens" show on the History channel that made an interesting arguement about Aliens being mistaken for Gods. Not saying I believe them, but I don't find it any less possible than any of the other religions I heard of. They made some pretty decent cases that peaked my interest. My answer to whether I would worship them or it would probably be no. I'm pretty sure the alien wouldn't care anyways.
